Well.

Credit Newcastle, they've out-hounded us.

But: they won't be able to keep it up. Three men on Townsend every time he gets it? It won't last

The same happened against Chelsea last week, they were backs to the wall late on and shot after putting so much into the first 60-70 minutes. We will have all of the game late on and just need to be clinical (LOL) then.

Krul has had a stormer too.

Eriksen has been decent, Sigurdsson anonymous, Dembele and Paulinho not great.

sadly I must call it as I see it,... and it is tough since Paulinho is my favorite Spurs player this season...

BUT, he has obviously been run into the ground by Spurs and Brazil combined,... he clearly started the game worn out and is getting bypassed and dismissed by the barcode midfield. He is showing no response and should be subbed at halftime - he looks totally gassed. Spurs just need that first goal to get rolling...

difference in the game = Remy with 2 chances and 1 goal,... GOLdado with 2 chances and 0 goals...

never liked the high line, but clearly AVB will stick with it regardless of whether it is successful or not.

SPURS can/should still win this!!! go 4-4-2 and bring defoe in for paulinho and GO FOR IT!!!

To Dare is to FUQING DO!!!! (right?) :jimlad:

COYFS!!!!! :singing:

Actually,.... make that Defoe on for Sigi and play 4-4-2,.... Paulinho might be tired, but he's still top class,....

ditch the high line and lone striker set up,... both elements of AVB's strategy playing into the weaker team's strengths/strategy :banghead:

Damned high line is giving an opportunity to lesser players and making lesser players/teams look dangerous unnecesarily.

Push up on the barcodes and take the play to their defence -- COYS!!!! We can/should still win this!!! :jimlad:

behond pathetic to watch today, really don't rate this formation/system we are playing, either change it as it clearly ain't working AVB or do one, bored to death of this shit this season. I'd rather lose playing football than this dross.

Not a single AVB out thought, but I'll tell you what - this commitment to the formation is amateur.

He even said it in a press conference - no more 4-4-2.

4-4-2 is a bit outdated, but it has its role in home games like this. Adebayor and Soldado would be a good start.

I knew AVB wouldn't start Lamela and I knew it would be another slow fucking day on the ball for us.

Why oh why does he refuse to start the one player who has the trickery and ability to penetrate the opponents box when this has been one of our biggest problems.

It just defies belief. He's being far too rigid with his ideas in terms of implementing players into the team as well. I'm an AVB fan boy but this is really starting to test my patience.

I have definitely been an AVB fan the past two years, but i'm struggling to see with our players how he has not been a detriment to the team this season. I feel that we (were) fourth in spite of AVB, not because of AVB.

Vertonghen frustrated, rightly so. No one is offering anything
And he doesn't want to play LB. He really really doesn't. It's very demoralizing to play a player such as him in in a position he simply doesn't want to play in. He's being professional and getting on with it which is expected, but it's not gonna do his morale any good whatsoever.

Chiri is so enthusiastic and loves bounding forward at every opportunity that he'd be much better suited and given license to fire up the line at will and fill his boots. We also badly need verts in the middle...next to kaboul FFS!
