Key problems are: wrong chemistry up front; no proper fullback effectiveness for the shape we play (even though rose has come good in many ways his final ball is lacking and he doesn't overlap enough); instability/inconsistency in defense.

With Walker back and Yedlin coming in we will have the pace we need down that flank; Ade needs to be dropped and we need to settle on a CB pairing in the prem...I have a suspicion that dier would be our most stable option at rCB.

We need to go back to basics and play 442 especially at home........ and scrap the inverted wingers crap!!

Yes, we're all angry, especially considering what today was meant to be about. But people have gone waaaaaaay to far IMO. I suppose in a way it's understandable.

From what I have read here, all are reasonable views. Nothing over the top.
Biggest mistake would be to not react and be protective of players.

Eriksen was anonymous.

I thought Eriksen was ok today, looked to get on the ball but he is suffering when Lamela keeps invading his space, the number of times players had no outlet wide was staggering, total rerun of our lack of width under AvB, pains me to type that too, i'm not hankering after wingers or traditional wide players but we need width to stretch teams, all too predictable.

There are a lot of young (and some just plain 'full retard') fans that demand instant gratification...but to be fair, today was just too much...that loss is impossible to take.

It's proper shocking to the senses.

It's not instant gratification that's expected - it's improvement from the utter shit we've been served over the last few weeks. When after each loss you hear "it wasn't good enough, we have to improve", you expect to see it after some time. The fact of the matter is that our players don't have the right mentality, and/or aren't good enough to play in the EPL. Add to that a coach who not only doesn't learn/change what's not working, but also doesn't seem to understand that you play to your player's strengths instead of trying to shoehorn them into one system, and it's easy to see why so many despair......we've been here before so many times, and can see exactly where it leads. So excuse me (and others) for not exactly being happy - all signs point to a more of the same.

Disgusting today, truly disgusting.

I've got connection with this club anymore.

What does it stand for, what does it want to achieve ?

Why should my son support this eternal shit ?

This is nothing like the club I supported in 80s.

ENIC have stripped us to something as boring as any other business concept.

Tell you what - they can stuff it.

I'm out to they've gone. W####rs.

ok, so we go 442...talk me through it....

Regressing back to Sherwood style football is an exercise in futility, if we are not going to seek to develop a style of play then we might as well give up now. I'm sick to the back teeth of the obsession some people have with the number of strikers on the pitch and whether that makes us more attacking.

I think everyone is in agreement that are problems are two fold:

The players aren't mentally strong enough. They don't have the professionalism, fight, courage or will to win that is a basic necessity for a successful team.

The players we have are not good enough at playing football.

We sold world class players and replaced them with dross and then we wonder why it isn't working.

You've said that so many times before yet, here you are, after every defeat, spouting the same old lines.

At two one down when we started to break with the ball he was jogging from the edge of the penalty area, disgusting attitude.

The sad thing is, we effectively chose to go with him over Gylfi, a decision I supported, but Gylfi had more fight in him than the rest of that sorry bunch put together.

So far we have seen improvement in some players and areas and deficiencies in others. It was always gonna be steps forward and back but at the end of the season you want to be at your goal.

Today was a hands down disaster but I'm not going to let it instantly flush away any of the positive elements we have developed this season.

I think the main problem is mentality. We have players with ability for sure. Mental strength is clearly still an issue though.

You can't put it all down to players when Sherwood got last season 42 in 22 PL games and AVB 27 in 16 and now we've had 11 in 9 so far with no forced sales this summer. I can understand it takes some time to get new ideas through, but if come spring we get equal results, one just can't put it all on material..
