15:17 YELLOW CARD
Tottenham 1-0 Southampton - Kaboul
Sadio Mane continues to cause Spurs problems and races through on goal, only to be bundled over by Younes Kaboul who ends up being booked for his troubles. To be fair to the big centre-half, he just looked stronger than Mane.
Half-Time Tottenham 1-0 Southampton
"Hugely tense game here without a huge amount of quality. That has come form Christian Eriksen - he has been the best player on the pitch. Southampton have been lively but for all their hard work, has Hugo Lloris been tested? Not at all."
14:45 GOAL Tottenham 1-0 Southampton - Christian Eriksen
14:38 SUBSTITUTION Tottenham 0-0 Southampton
Tottenham are forced into a change when Kyle Naughton is caught on the ankle by Ryan Bertrand's strong tackle. Eric Dier replaces the full-back.

This'll be my first PL game I've gone to this season and sitting in park lane upper (where else) and I pray for 3 points, no doubt it'll be a tough game for us and hopefully we win. I really hope Soldado starts, wanna see him with eriksen and Lamela behind him.

We are going to get hammered, we were crap against West Brom.
Crap against Forest for 60 minutes
Played well against Arsenal
Crap against Beskitas.

and Southampton are a top side, well drilled with pass and move players.

Strangley enough Im going for us to win even though they are better than us and our home form is wank and we cant keep clean sheets i reckon we will scrape the win.
One nil will do just as Long as we dont lose again and have to wait two weeks to put things right.

Not confident, too much against us. Need a lot to suddenly click to match them, and we've not had the time to focus on it. 3-1 Saints.

FFS...we're playing Southampton, not Chelsea or City.

Yes they've started well, got some good players and have settled well under Koeman but we're more than capable if we see a good start with some intensity on show.

I really think Poch will have them up for this, he'll be desperate to win this.

Going to the pub as I'm sure we'll be 3 or 4 up by half time then I can keep an eye on the scum/blue scum game on the other telly.

After a EL game, at home, before the international break = inevitable loss. Just so we can spend 2 weeks moaning about it while watching pointless international tedium

Can't remember the last time we won before an international break, especially after a EL game. Just doesn't happen.

I get what you're saying, it would be very Spursy to lose before the International break, but I don't think the EL game can be used as an excuse whatsoever. Firstly, we played at home, so no travelling to the backend of Europe, and secondly, it was an entirely changed team apart from Lloris. I don't really expect anyone that started against Besiktas to start against Southampton. The only exception perhaps could be Soldado and/or Kane as they seemed to do well enough.

Weighing up both teams, it should be a fairly straightforward win for Southampton, 0-2 or 0-3. Schneiderlin will doubtless show us what we missed when we failed to sign him.
Mind you, I thought the Gooners would thrash us, so hope I'm wrong again!

We must win this game. We simply cannot afford more dropped points at home with City at the Etihad after the international break. We would potentially be staring at 8 points after 8 games with a loss tomorrow, which would leave us near the bottom of the table.

On the opposite end of the spectrum with today's results, a win tomorrow could see us sit in fourth, which would be pretty remarkable.

The most interesting choices for me will be whether Adebayor and Dembele start. I don't think Poch would've had them sit on the bench midweek if he didn't intend on them starting this weekend, so I'm expecting a line-up like we saw against Sunderland, with the exception of Vertonghen starting.

...would like to see Chadli start as the lone striker, with Ade brought in as a sub...

Saints fans will be well up for it so hopefully we don't concede a silly goal early which could ruin the atmosphere. Hoping the fans will get behind the team, this would be a huge win for us if we manage to play the way we are capable of. Will be singing along in the East Lower, hope I'm not in a minority again...

No danger there, then. :p
