I know it will be an unpopular set of words but I can understand why Poch is playing Sissoko today. The guy does one thing, and only one thing, well and that is stretch teams.

On a pitch the size of Wembley having the big lump make forward runs from midfield opens up space for both Eriksen and Dele as Sissoko tends to get tracked by both the CM and the spare CB that isn't marking Harry! That leaves a nice big space for our Dane to work his magic! COYS!

If I could be bothered to get some stats out I'd bet my left bollock that Lampard covered more miles in a season than Davies does.

anyways...

There has to be a consideration for the level of intensity that a full back has to run with vs say a midfield player. I don't have any stats to prove my point but I would imagine a FB goes up and down the pitch much like you would on a basketball court.

I think sonny at lwb is more of a concern than sissoko tbh.

In this game, in the centre of the park, I'm ok with him starting.

Cant be back 3 as it would mean Son as LWB, which I'm sure Poch has learnt his lesson with this. So it has to be back 4 with Verts as LB.

Poch always used to rotate his full backs when all were fit. Makes. Lot of sense resting Davies in this game. We can't compare our teams to most others because Poch expects a height intensity for every minute a player is on the pitch. Glad Dembele gets a rest as well

If I was to hazard a guess, I'd imagine Son will play very wide left when we have the ball with Trippier providing the width on the right. Vertonghen will play almost as a third centreback. Without the ball going to a back four.

Something like:

Might be Sissoko as wing back? There's no way we're playing Vertonghen as a LB so it must be Sissoko or Son there.

Not arguing with you but Son at LWB v Swansea is a totally different prospect to Son at LWB v Chelsea.
