Agreed. He had his first start in the premier league under Sherwood. I dont see what the big issue is.

He has done nothing in a Spurs shirt to warrant starting every match. Certainly didnt do anything against Soton to nail down his place in the first team.

He did more than Siggy did?

He started the move for our 1st goal and 1 or 2 other good chances we had.

He also worked his bollocks off.

Im afraid what will happen is Townsend returns and Tim says i gave Lamela his game and wasnt good enough.
Then proceeds to play Townsend every game and tells us he is the next Gareth Bale.
Which we all know is complete rubbish.

Oh I dunno. Townsend probably has as many shots on goal during a game as Bale...maybe even more.

Looking at the West Brom lineup they're also rather attacking, big decision to start old Zoltan rather than Mulumbu but one that could pay dividends for them with us not having a DM to whack on him.

If we can control possession as we have done in the last 2 and get an early goal I'd say things will be fine, but that's a large if. Long isn't even on the bench though, is he injured or suspended or something?

What I see in this thread is a whole lot of Spurs fans who already made up their mind on Tim Sherwood, never wanted him to get the job and think he is shit. Now all your doing is looking for reasons to reinforce your beliefs by criticizing his team selections and tactics instead of giving the man a chance.

It's funny, all of you are calling for Lamela to get a chance and in the same breathe saying how shit Sherwood is in his second game in charge. A bit of a double standard there, no?
