Quick post as it seems he might be headed to PNE:

Preston tend to play a 352 with 2 forwards. They had about 7 attacking players last season including Scott Sinclair (released), Cameron Archer (end of loan), Joe Rodwell-Grant (released), Tom Barhkuizen ( Derby County) who are no longer with the club. Main forward is 6"3 Danish player, Emil Riis Jakobsen ( finished the season with 44 app/ 16 goals/ 5 assists), they also have Ched Evans (age 33 ) and Sean Maguire (age 28) who both combined for a whooping 53 appearances across all competitions, where they contributed 4 goals and 5 assists total.

What does that mean for Troy if the loan goes through? If he can stay injury free, plenty of starts and opportunities. Troy did end his last season on loan, albeit in League 1, with 47 total appearances, 10 goals and 7 assists. Also, keep in mind that while Troy was on loan at MK Dons, he did play at RW, LW, SS, CF, so that would have impacted his output. I think this could be a good move for him and I'll certainly keep an eye on his progress.

Just to add to this, the partner to Emil Riis Jakobsen plays as a Support Stiker, which I think is ideal position for Parrott and he could really thrive there. When Archer arrived on loan in January, he made the position his own and his only real experience was in the National League the season prior. Also, Parrott is picked ahead of Maguire for Ireland.

Yep! Really adding up to be a smart loan if it's confirmed. I'm sure the PNE staff were probably also swayed and impressed by how well Troy did during the pre-season "bleep test".

Easy to forgot he’s still only 20. Already an established international and a host of Championship clubs after him. Pretty sure quite a few PL would take him a squad player. Tbh I’d be pretty happy to keep him as our 6th choice attacker. All round his progression is going very nicely.

But how long left on his contract. Can't keep sending him out on loan and not extending his contract contract

Preston could be a good move to get him playing a decent amount of football in the Championship.

They has Cameron Archer on loan last season from Villa, who I think they wanted to return, and he played 20 games (18 starts) scoring 7 times.

really nice to see this get sorted early - time for him to get in a little pre-season, and hit the ground running in the Championship.

Sounds like the style of football has been selected as much as the league level for this loan move. Lowe is quite highly rated as a young coach in the lower divisions and like to get the ball down. Plymouth fans were gutted he left last year.

Hopefully this is a good move, a level up and plenty of game time for Parrott to develop. Nice for him to have another 3 years on his deal and that Spurs trust he is going the right direction.

I'll be the first to say 2025 contract extention doesn't seem long enough. He will have 2 years left when he returns

Length keeps both him and the club motivated. Him to come back and earn a longer one, us to do our best by him to get him to commit longer term.

I expect we've got an option to extend 1 year.

Either way it sounds like the lad really wants play for us so if he comes back off a good season, I'm sure we could renew him to be our 6th attacker and replace Lucas.

If not, we'll still get a reasonable market rate + sell on / buy back clause etc.

The other factor is Kane will be down to a year, and will be crunch time for him also.

I'm not saying Parrott is on a trajectory to replace him, but there's a decent chance he could come back to compete or understudy someone who isn't Kane, and therefore a better chance of minutes.

Looks like a great loan for him. Steps him up to the Championship, with a team that has a need for a support striker like Parrott. He should get a lot of appearances. Looking forward to catching a few games of his.

“I’ve been speaking to Browney [Alan Browne] and Robbie [Brady] and just asking what it’s like around the place and they’ve had nothing but good things to say, so I’m happy to be here."

The opportunity to work with Preston boss Lowe will also benefit the Republic of Ireland international, especially as the Liverpudlian was a striker himself and had a successful career in the EFL, Speaking about the acquisition of Parrott, Lowe outlined why he was so intent on signing him on loan.

"Troy’s one I’ve monitored for some time; he had a fantastic season last year for MK Dons," he admitted. “I watched him play for Ireland against Scotland in the summer when he scored a fantastic goal in the Nations League.

“His work ethic is fantastic, his hold-up play is very good for the style he is, but ultimately we want Troy to score goals for us.

“We’ve beaten some fantastic competition to get him. I think we sold it to him with the style of play, the identity and what we want to achieve, and probably a little bit of help from a few of the Irish boys as well."

This is great to hear, really excited to see how he performs in the Championship.

Preston fan's gotta be excited for this upcoming season. A playoff place should be their minimal expectation.
