yeah ok...But do you watch any other prem football? barring Ar$e and Manu the football quality is no better, Chavski and Liverpool have their moments but thats it.

Hull on another day could have 0 points. Every report I have read of them and games I have seen they have been "lucky". Did they truly deserve to beat us and the ar$e?

What your saw last night is typical of football, you can only beat whats in front of you. The majority just do enough, in fact Chavski under Mourinho were the epitomy of that.

Villa do not play with sublime attacking passing, they have a defined direct football style, balanced team and a settled side. Something we don't have. Those factors are just as improtant as players on the teamsheet, But Villa are a long way from world beaters.

Tottenham are a top 8 side. The top 4 are still the top 4, villa/everton/Tott/Manc come next. Whether we achieve that this year is down to us having such a diabolical start.

What your saw last night was a typical if slightly average game of premiership football, where by and large we controlled it and had the better chances...
:stupid: ye mate totally agree...

the first half yesterday was frustrating as hell and were we playing a better side we may have gone a goal down..but thankfully there are still teams in the prem that we're a fair deal better than, and harry's half time talk must of done a trick..we pressed and pressed and finally got the goal...jittered towards the end until ohara sealed it for us..0-2 clean sheet, 3points...get our heads out of the clouds..european champions on saturday evening..lets overcome that hurdle harry me old mucker!!

Sorry, but I disagree with a lot of that. Of course they deserved to beat us! We were shit. We offered fuck all up front and although I’m sure we had more possession than them, every time they attached we looked very vulnerable! They definitely deserved that win, no question about it. We were useless. We were passing sideways and backwards.

To compare us to the unbeaten Chelsea side is frankly laughable. I won’t even get into a debate about us beating West Ham and Chelsea under Mourinho.

We are NOT a top 8 side. We’re currently a bottom half side and in this league you aren’t guaranteed anything, especially not a position where we’re very far from lying in!

I’m also sorry to say that last night’s football match was TYPICAL of a bottom half table game. I think it’s unfair on the other Premiership teams to be making blasé comments like that about it being a typical Prem game.

Sorry for being a bringer of doom and gloom, but did anyone actually WATCH the game last night? I thought it was mainly very dull bar a couple of moments. West Ham are terrible! They’ve only taken 1 point in the last 15 at home and they have no team cohesion. Who from West Ham would you have in your Spurs first team? 1 or 2 at a push? They have a squad worth sweet fuck all, a manager who has very little managerial experience and no club managerial experience and as a club, are a sinking ship. I know they got a good draw at Liverpool, but we all know how hot and cold (more hot than cold obviously!) Liverpool have run this season.

From a neutral POV that game was extremely boring, especially the first half. No one took the game by the scruff of the neck and we have players who are proving to be distinctly average (Jenas, Bentley, Zokora and Pavyluchenko to name just 4). We played similarly against Everton, despite having a change of system and Modric back. We have no ball winner we can rely on in the centre of the park who turns up week in week out with the right attitude!!! Sometimes you think Jenas has it and then goes missing for a run of 3-4 games, and the same goes with Huddlestone and IMO Zokora, although consistent, is consistently average!

I agree that I thought Modric did very well last night. He is good running with the ball and does stick it about a lot. However, even he still managed to over run the ball on 3-4 occasions when we were in very good positions.

There was such a fine line last night between drawing that game 1-1 and winning 2-0. How Di Michelle never stuck the ball in the net I’ll never know. Also, although we should have got a debateable handball (his arms were at least tucked in), BAE made Maradona’s ‘hand of God’ moment against England look legitimate.

Don’t get me wrong, there were positives, just to prove I’m not just full of negativity...

- Gomes looked commanding and proved why his shot stopping is one of the best in Europe, although his punching criticised, I think when you punch it 30 yards (as he did) it’s up to the midfielders and defenders to sort the ball out from then – not his fault the ball came back nearly as fast due to gross incompetence by our midfielders.
- King looked solid as rock and got his first goal in something like 3 years which is a delight to see.
- We look far better with Modric playing.
- Bent is IMO our best striker and should start ahead of Pav as he is more physical, quicker and appears to try harder.
- O’Hara came on and in the whole did well regardless of his cracker of a goal from 25 yards.
- Redknapp’s tactical substitutions paid dividends.
- Zokora got a decent shot on target.
- Lennon found some lovely crosses.
- Bentley’s hair looked good despite the rain.
- Our fans were very vocal.
- I’m scraping the barrel.

I think we have a long way to go to be matching the likes of Villa and Everton at the moment (who put on a great spectacle on Sunday afternoon) who are much better than us at the moment. Let alone trying to match the current top 4 which we were looking at doing when BMJ was here.

Up to 15th. We’ll get a nose bleed soon.

Last night was all about the result, like most derby games are. It does not matter how you get it as long as you get it so us Spurs fans can go into work with our heads held high. I thought it was a good performance considering where we are in the league and also the pressure being on us with Utd next. Modric was class aswell as Corluka. Oh by the way I was at the game so I did watch the game last night!!!!

Did you watch that game??!!! It was just two teams hoofing it from one end of the pitch to the other. None of their midfielders put a foot on the ball and the best players on the pitch were Jaglielka and Laursen!!

Atleast spurs try and play football the right way which sometimes leaves us open, but don't try telling me teams that hoof the ball from back to front are a level above!!

The villa everton match was sh!t. I don't care about the scoreline, I watched it and its not football to me!

Dont care really how we win, just as long as we win, which is all important. Even some of the best teams have to win ugly sometimes! a good solid 2-0 away win shows that we can scrap and win ugly as well as turn on the style when needed, and when conditions allow.

Also pleased that we managed to break down a defence which hadnt conceded a goal for over 300 minutes of football.

Well done Harry and the lads on professional job well done!

A good win away from home, simple as that. When we play away we are not obligated to entertain we are just required to come away with 3 points and that we did professionally, West Ham were very poor due to a good tactical set-up to nulify them hence the poor first half. As Harry said he asked the boys to step it up a bit at half time and that we did, there was only going to be 1 winner in the second half. Its especially heartening to see Ledders playing all the league games he addds 20% to our team IMO when he plays and it has been a major blow to our club that he has a dodgy knee.

first half was dull second half we controlled the game and thoroughly deserved the win. Although I am really getting annoyed with pavlyuchenkos performances, its simply not good enough. He really needs to improve his hold up play and speed of thought

It was a thoroughly enjoyable game of football with early and late on drama!

Everton and Villa are providing consistency and I’ve been very impressed with Aston Villa’s fight and determination. Lausen I thought was brilliant on Sunday and although Young should have put away a 1 on 1 earlier, he was awesome I thought. He was awesome against us at WHL as well.

Both teams have very hard working midfields and solid defences. The fact we can’t choose our best midfield duo and that our back 4 is ever changing I think is probably, in fact I know is one of the main reason for our poor form.

If we can find a consistency to team selection and if a couple of players can find some form we’ll start picking up far more points obviously. However, it just seems like too many players are being carried through games and making very little impact at the moment. Players I can’t currently fault are Bent, King, Corluka and Modric mainly. I also think BAE has played well. Lennon is also playing well but only in the last few games. He was shocking at the beginning of the season.

Also, can I just take this time to ask Harry WTF he is doing playing Lennon down the left all the God damned time. Every man and his dog can see that Lennon is 2 or 3 times more effective down the right and that Bentley NEEDS to be dropped.

Spurs looked very solid and clearly better than WHam. Shortly before our goal the goal chances were 0:5 for us. In fact, Wham had more chances vs liverpool than against us.

Modric and Lennon were very very good.

DC normally I respect your postings, but this unconditional love for JJ is crazy? He's an average player, who hasn't been on form this year, im constantly finding myself going "Oh for fucks sake Jenas" whilst watching Tottenham. I've no beef with the guy, it's just lately he's been poor. Surely you can see that? Or is it such unconditional love that even when he plays poorly you'll say he's the best player on the planet? My firm favourite in this Spurs team is Bentley, but I can honestly say the past month he's been dross....

I completely disagree. West Ham only last week should have arguably picked up 3 points against the current League Leagers. Defensively they had been more solid of the last couple of weeks, however they lack a cutting edge.

We won the midfield battle and pushed on to win the game strongly in the 2nd half. Tactically it was a fine team performance.

I won't try and tell you how a teams performance is judged over a season, not hand picked from the last 8 games (incl. Europe) or whatever. ;)

Good, because as we aren't even half way through in a very tight league we may very well finish above both

And I was just picking up on your consistency point anyway

nice to see theres disagreements even after we completely dominate a game and run out winners.
was it our best perfomance of the season? no
is there things to improve on? yes
did we dominate a local rival?yes
did we keep a clean sheet for the first time in the league away from home? yes
can we not just be happy with the fact that yes we won dominating what is lets face it a poor side but that theres certainly still aspects harry needs to work on

I thought the whole game was a typical Premier League affair. The first half was a little scruffy but the second half (well for 35 mins) we totally bossed it.

The entire defence was top drawer, BAE was very good, King and Woodgate were excellent and I thought Corluka had one of his best game I was very impressed with him last night. Gomes had a good solid game, with that great double save late on.

Zokora played very well (I thought he might have even scored for a minute, foolish I know!). Lennon and Jenas were good, Bentley was a little quiet. Modric did what he's supposed to do and did it well (should have scored in the first minute but I'm sure his goal will come). Pav and Bent did some very good work, thankless task up front on your own and a total belter from O'Hara!

All in all I thought it was one of our better all round performances this season. From the back right to the front. Never looked in any real danger and looked sharp going forward.

Thats my thoughts anyway!
