Have you heard? He’s won more trophies/medals than Kane. What a world class player that Scotty lad.

Just goes to show (my opinion) Shearer record means a lot more than trophies. Thousands of players have won 'trophies' and loads of them without even playing a full game of football in that season.

Shearer (and Greavsie) record means immortality... until its broken.

If we were winning all those trophies by buying them, we would still celebrate.

What you guys don't understand is that may be the opinion in the UK, but around the rest of the world no one really gives a shit about City's cheating.

The rest of the world is so much bigger too, it's not even quantifiable.
Hey AfriCoy, Scandinavia here.
What you are saying, and have repeated in several posts, is simply not true. Man City and their ways of achieving success is discussed in most places. You may have a point that it is a minority, but do not think for a second that people outside of the UK just bow in admiration of Pep and co.

Controversial everywhere. That is the price of having the most popular and exposed league in the world. The good with the bad.

I keep hearing we do things the right way but I would bite my hand off for all them trophies. Two league cup wins in 32 years is pretty dreadful. I will always love Spurs but I feel like supporting them is one big piss take!!!

Rusky your posts are normally fantastic but this is absolutely hilarious - his entire legacy is the fact that his drugs cheating completely ruined and wiped out any form of credit or glory he had. I can't think of a single person who wouldn't respond to his name without his drugs being the first thing they thought of in response.
I very much misjudged the tone of that post aha - obviously it’s not the only thing. My bad.

Again, a very small percentage of football fans around the world actually care about the cheating and charges. All they see is the flashy trophy celebrations and incredible football on the pitch.

In 15 years time no one will even remember that, all they’ll remember is that City won the treble.
Correct

It's just jealously at work

Hi Jazz, I’m not saying it’s not a shared opinion in other parts of the world, I’m saying it is still a very small portion of the fan base that cares about it in comparison to those who simply don’t care at all. I’m a well travelled individual, and I can tell you for a fact most football fans rarely care about these sort of things. They care about the name that goes on the trophy and the football that team plays on the pitch, not much else. That’s not to say some fans do care, but it’s a minority in this case.

Let’s see what happens when guardiola’s contract ends at the end of next season and he goes then they’ll be a different proposition.

At least they stopped the gooners winning the league so I’m thankful of that. Amazing it took them so long to win this competition though.

Wouldn't it be funny if the PL ruling came out tomorrow and the punishment was severe and takes the wind out from beneath their legs?

Shite game. Plastic club. Sports washing cheats. Footballs gone.
It went when the premier league started and spurs are very much part of that. These lot just took it to the level.

I pray that Daniels FFP talk is just posturing because it isn't going to affect the game in the way he thinks

You’re not the only ones, but I think you’re both missing the point of what Rusky was saying. Armstrong is a cheat, no one thinks of what a great cyclist he was, they think he’s a cheat. City are demonstrably cheats, that’s what a lot of people will remember.
His post wasn’t in response to anyone so hard to pick up on if he was being sarcastic. I took the post at face value, but it was likely sarcasm.

Its already forgotten. Its almost 18 years since Roman bought them and changed football.
Another 7 years, its almost one generation done...people will forget.

How many even know Arsenal controversially rejoined 1st division league in 1919. Its not even a footnote now. More years ago, new football generation comes, all the things you think is important to point out now, will be forgotten

Media is bought out in every country by rulers. Media again is used to forget things even in football.
This is the world we live in , like it or not.

Ofcourse you can voice your opinion...as time goes , it falls into more deaf ears.
But we are talking about the now, aren't we? Or is the argument now doesn't matter because in a 100 years time no one will remember?

By that metric isn't there loads of stuff we could ignore/brush under the carpet now, even though we strongly disagree with it?
