Harry said noone would leave unless there were replacements lined up. Maybe we're getting someone with Sissoko?

I know people rate Sissoko, but i'd rather stick with a proven EPL performer than take another high-priced punt on a foreigner.

With all due respect I hope it's highly unreliable ITK. Until Villa (Young saga) change their tune in regards to us and transfers I want us to shut the door on them.

I'm not a huge Jenas fan (he serves a purpose but he's playing at an appropriate level - below top 4) but letting him go without having a replacement is ludicrous...

I hope this isn't true and for up to £10m, how could we replace him for that.

Would only happen if we've got someone lined up to replace him, but the fee seems a little low for a player that averages a league goal every 6 games.

Don't think this will happen. With some of our players Redknapp always says things like "If somebody wanted him they'd have to speak to Daniel and match our valuation" but with JJ he did say that "we're not going to sell any of our best players and he is one of our best players".

Whether this wass true or bargaining tactic I know not, but I'm pretty sure we'll keep Jenas.

If he were to leave, I don't mind whether his replacement is Premiership based or from abroad, I'd just want it to be someone who has at least 3 or 4 good seasons under his belt in whichever league he plays, so that at least that players calibre is not in issue. I don't mind a player having to bed in if the end result is a top class player. Berbatov took a good couple of months after all.

However, unless the replacement really is top quality, I think it is far better to keep Jenas. I'm happy with our midfield options.

If true this is harry's first mistake of this window. One mistake is still good going but a mistake nonetheless.

For up to 10m would be appaling business, an injured Downing from a relegated club in need of cash and a wage bill reduction recently went to Villa for 12. Surely this fact wouldn't have escaped Daniel Levy, especially given our clubs publicised obsession with said player over the past 4 years and 8 windows.

Doub it. Even if we get Sissoko, he is young and unproven. Jenas is our most experienced Premier League midfielder. Harry has made it clear in the past that we need more experience there. Thats why he wanted Vieira. So i'd be surprised if we end up with the likes of O'Hara, Huddlestone and possibly Sossoko to partner Palacios. And we dont want to strengthen Villa either. As far as i'm concerned, they haven't replaced Barry yet (Delph is too young) and Villa are competing with us for top 6 this season. I dont think Harry is that stupid.

Palacios replaced Zokora! Sell Jenas and buy a world class centre mid.

Is it really madness????

Yeah, simple as that, there must be hundreds of players who fit that description who would move to us...

Sorry did i say it would be easy?????

I just said it wouldnt be madness to sell Jenas and replace him with a world class player...

With your attitude we might aswell bring back Zokora and sell Palacios

It would be madness, keep JJ and buy a world class player anyway (if it was that easy?)

:duh:

If your argument is simply that selling Jenas and replacing him with a world-class CM would be a good thing and to hell with whether it's feasible or not, I should make a post saying we should sell Defoe and replace him with a world-class player in the class of Messi/Torres etc. And so on and so on for every member of our squad, with the possible exceptions of King and Modric. It's not wrong to want that, but unless you're suggesting realistic choices for world-class replacements it's also a totally pointless exercise.
