I think we are better but not good enough to compete for the East.

Our offense is great but I'm afraid that our strategy is only to score more than the other guy. At some point, the defense has to make stops. There was only 1 punt in the entire game yesterday and FL was like 5/6 on 4th downs. FL's coach made some head scratching decisions that helped us too. Going for 2 twice and not getting either one was the difference at the end of the game between kicking a field goal for a OT and having to score a TD to win.

If we can win in 2 weeks in Baton Rouge, then I might be more confident. I can only hope that they make is a day game and not a night game. Playing under the lights in front of a rowdy Death Valley crowd is not something I think this team is ready to do.
Probably too early to be competing for the East but the important thing is the program seems to be going in a positive direction after years of being the butt of jokes. Beating out Kentucky to 2nd in the East would be a good season.

Wouldn't worry about Death Valley. Doubt it'll be a night game as CBS will choose A&M/Bama for their prime time slot. Also, you've got two weeks to prepare for us while we've got a tough road game against Auburn the week before.

If LSU wins this week @Auburn, then I could see the TN/LSU game being the ESPN night game.

This might be the delusional optimist in me slowly taking control but I'm starting to think this LSU team might actually be average maybe even the lower side of good...

Notre Dame/Navy tonight in Dublin. Probably going to be one sided but still an interesting event.

Wonder how Nebraska football is going to feel that the largest crowd for an event in Nebraska history is likely to be a Nebraska women's volleyball match played IN the football stadium.....

Gotta admit Colorado was impressive today....

But man, Travis Hunter is an absolute star.....60+ snaps on offense for 11 catches 117 and 60+ snaps on defense with an incredible interception to stop TCU from going up.

Gotta imagine NFL scouts are looking at Hunter and thinking "a guy who is elite at WR and CB? Think of all the money we won't have to pay a RB."

Thought I’d chime in here. First team is the Longhorns

Colorado are my 2nd team again, because I live here.

Easily got tickets to the Buff games last year. This year…not so easy to find so far.

Colorado is still a good few players away from where they need to be to compete at the top.

Should be fun following them though!

What we saw today, and likely will see next week against USC, is reality settling in on the program. Oregon is a legitimate annual bull of a program. They have money, coaching, facilities, recruits and a reputation that pulls people to them. Colorado is a program that effectively was built overnight on the sheer audacity of the coach. They don't have the talent to play with the big boys yet.

What Deion is doing is really impressive, that Colorado team was BAD last year and has been bad for YEARS. Remember this is a school with 2 winning seasons since 2006 (and one of those was the COVID season where they went 4-2) and he has them looking like they may make bowl eligibility. IF he pulls that off, it is a massive accomplishment.

But i think people can put aside the idea of Colorado being a project that is anywhere close to being ready just yet. But i do think it will be fun as hell to watch.

I don’t think they’re anywhere close to challenging. They got stomped yesterday. I think Saunders said that they’re still a good number of players short. Still, last year they won, 1 game. Heading in the right direction.

They were never a top 25 side.

Agreed. But i think they may have enough to eek out 6-7 wins which would get them a bowl. That would be a massive jump for them.

Too bad it is dying, because the Pac-12 looks so good this year. Caught some of the Washington game last night, they are some kind of offense, Penix is a really entertaining QB to watch.

They're going to a B12 conference that is losing Texas and Oklahoma so things are really set up for them to get a footing. But if Deion gets them to 9 or 10 wins in the next couple of years are we really thinking he won't take the next big job?
