Honestly surprised Valbuena has taken this long to move. However, we certainly have no need for him at Spurs. Mendy I haven't taken much notice of though.

It says: Benjamin Mendy and Mathieu Valbuena are observed in England by Tottenham and Newcastle.
If both are in England and they are being observed then who amongst Spurs and Toons have "observed" them?
Valbuena was the next big thing in France like 7-8 seasons ago but never lived up to his hype. He's turning 30 in a few months so can't see Spurs being interested at all.
As for Mendy, he's only 19 and seem like a potential LB but naturally too early to tell (built a bit like Micah Richards).

To be fair to Valbuena, good days or bad he is always working, always trying, I have a lot of respect for that, it's just that some games despite all his effort he doesn't seem to get anywhere

We have no need for him?

With Eriksen and Holtby, we have a combined 13 years of age less than Valbuena. Valbuena is a an excellent player, but he doesn't offer much more than what we already have at his position and he's quite a bit older. For the money it'd take to bring him in, it would be at the detriment to other areas of need to strengthen. So no, we have no need for him.

Valbuena is exactly the sort of player we needed to being in and replace Modric, no need for him now but players of his ilk need to be found and scouted.
