I'm a bit miffed.

Do the media just make up what wages our players are on to make their stories sound better?

Firstly they had Luka being on "Only" £40k a week.

Now the Fulham Chronicle (Is that even a paper?) is claiming that Crouch would need to take a £70k a week PAY CUT to join QPR.

That would imply that if they at least offered him £20-25k he would be on over double what Modric is on.

Does anyone know where these pillocks get their figures from? Surely that isnt true..

When Modric first arrived he was on £18k, last year that went up to £40k.

Meh, believe what you want but I'm adamant my figures are correct. Really doesn't matter though, either way Crouch is nowhere near what was reported and our wage cap is £70k.

Brett.spurs, if your figures are correct it shows me that Pienaar must have one hell of an agent to have managed 65k pounds compared to VDV's 44k !!!!!!!
Also Sandro on 20k pounds does seem a bit off compared to the rest, hopefully that's adjusted soon.
What is really galling is to see our strikers wages and they don't strike

Because he was 6 months from going to any club he wanted(well, within reason) he's being paid a wad due to the relatively low transfer fee - although imo he's not worth a great deal more than we paid.

VDV confirmed his wages - you can search "Van Der Vaart £44k" and there should be loads of links.

I have friends at Sports Interactive, who make the Football Manager games. They've always maintained Gallas and Modric are our top earners, on £60K, but again surely just more informed speculation
