An acquaintance said to me this afternoon, "a routine win to go back top after everyone else played and went above you this weekend seems different."

It does a little tbf. Not that it means ermehgherd, we're winning da leeg! But the almost total lack of drama yesterday was most welcome.

Just impressive how quickly a marked shift is being seen by not just us Spurs fans. Not even ten league games into his reign yet. Imagine how good we'll be after a full season and more additions to the squad under Ange?
I still felt drama in the 2nd half, but the reasons for it fortunately didn't materialise. We are a different animal now and it is taking some getting used to. In a very good way.

Got to lol when I've not read any of our fans declaring we're going to win the league, yet every other team's fans seem to think we're all thinking it...

I ALWAYS think we're going to win the league until it's mathematically impossible, every team's fans should want that, but I don't talk about it at all, it's a natural state of mind, and I definitely haven't been going on about it this season as I'd be afraid to jinx any good results we might have coming up...

Just feels like a lot more other teams' fans are talking about it than we are on here, which is odd.
I totally agree... You might not read it, but YouTube is full of young overwhelmed (mainly overseas) spurs fans only too willing to claim we'll win the league 😔 It is very hard not deny them this feeling, but 9 games in 🤫. The best take away from that game for me, is that is Ange is in total control... My take from his post match interview was... He knows exactly who needs to improve to stay in his plans .... Skip, Hojbjerg, Le celso, If they want any starts in this midfield once all are fit. He gave important minutes to Veliz in a games that matters to build confidence... Maybe next time we see Gil replace Maddison, Gil has a few attributes that could see him emulate and back up Maddison....he just needs to be coached and encouraged to believe he can... There's so many positives and that's with out the Oppo fans with salty tears, unwittingly providing such joy with their
hate for the mighty Spurs evolution 😂

This we scored 2 because of mistakes is REALLY getting on my effing tits. Our PRESSING forced them into making mistakes, they didn't give the ball up under 0 pressure, it wasn't a lapse of concentration, we FORCED IT.
CORRECT SIR!!! Same as Matips last minute screamer.

Palace Fans comment on Spurs

Tottenham are playing well, but are not world beaters. Their right back is very impressive with driving raids into the opposition half, so we will have to avoid the same mistake as Saturday when Trippier was given full run of the right side. The main creative hub is Maddison and I would be tempted to use Lerma to man mark him and nullify his influence.
Their two centre backs and keeper are solid and don't give away much. I don't think we'll win but will go for a 1-1.

Their strength this season has been in the wide areas and that has been our weakness. It'll be interesting to see what Roy does to address that.

Palace Fan comments on Palace

I would like to see Franca, Ayew and JRS as the 3 attacking midfielders. But I would also like to get trapped in a flat with 3 nymphomaniacs. Don't think either will happen.

To which came the reply

Sadly, if our strikers got trapped in a flat with 3 nymphomaniacs, I still don't think they'd score.

Why does every other set of fans seem to have this encyclopaedic knowledge of who we've played, in what order, and why we didn't deserve to win? I can't remember who any other team has played longer ago than the last match. I've no idea who West Ham have played this season other than Aston Villa, and I'll have forgotten that by Sunday. Who did Newcastle play at the weekend? No idea. Vaguely remember they had a good win, but that's it.
Copium and pundits are sheep they copy and repeat everything if it gets engagement for clicks

Look at the responses to this tweet. At this point the tribalism is just getting weird. Nobody can give another club any praise whatsoever.

Some really odd comments there, like this...

Yeah I get keep thinking this. Everyone saying we need one. Yet son has 7 in 7 games playing at striker.
If anything we need 15-20 goal a season winger.
I think in addition to Son, we need more 3 players that can hit double figures (not necessarily 15-20) for goals.

IMO, Maddison will, so we need 2 more.

Johnson scored 18 in the championship and 8 in the PL for a very poor Forest side, so could potentially be 1.

Richarlison has got double figures 3 times for Everton but his finishing since signing for us looks a million miles away from being able to do it.

Kulusevski has done it once in Serie A, and got 5 in 1/2 a season for us but looks scared to shoot ATM, so looks like we will likely have to bring 1 more in.

If we’ve allegedly not played anyone decent despite facing half the sides in the league, maybe it’s the league that’s not that great?

It’s clearly not that. It’s that
- there seems a pretty clear split between the quality in the league between top half and bottom half…
- especially the lower reaches of that
- 3 of the teams we’ve played are in the top half, and 6 are in the bottom, several at the very bottom

I do think our fixture list has been kind. But we’ve still taken a crap load of points.

Its fine to say this but

Brentford away first game, is a hard place for the majority of teams to go, they weren't in the bottom half then and finished top 10 last season.

Burnley away has historically been a slog fest. Think this fell nicely for us, wouldn't want to be going there in the cold depths of winter.

We absolutely dominated Sheff Utd and Luton and on other days could have won both games by 5. Same with Bournemouth that really should have been more too.

For me its the manner in which we're playing and winning, the league table doesn't really bare any huge significance just yet anyway. We're top, it's great, but it's only 9 games. Let's have a look again when we've played 15 games. We won't be far away from our current position.

Fans are just trying to set us up as this years ‘legends’.

One of my Liverpool supporting workmates yesterday said we have to be favourites for the league now as we’re 2pts clear but just reminded him we were in 4th place before the game so lots of clubs up there and it’s all just jostling for position at the moment

Meh. The article is clickbait shite and to be honest I don’t think it’s unreasonable to bring up Howe or Emery. What’s weird is fans acting like it’s spurs’ or our fans’ fault that journalists write these articles

A lot of the comments are from Newcastle fans claiming Eddie Howe has had a bigger impact… of course he’s hd an impact, but he wouldn’t even be there if it wasn’t for the Saudi investment… a huge lack of self awareness going on.
Newcastle and villa fans seem to be getting bent out of shape over facts.

Howe lost 3 games in his first 9. Emery lost 3 and drew 1. It's not a slight on the fantastic work both manager have done.

As for the Newcastle fan saying we have been given a stadium. The club paid for that, every thing we have achieved is through our own means.

Howe has spent more than Newcastle earn.

Imagine Newcastle fans talking about bottling it, they haven't won a trophy in 60 years.

Jesus wept, Villa and the Geordies have half decent seasons and talk like they are perennial top table merchants.

Berks.
