You're right that's what I meant - the EL would be a distraction from the campaign to win nowt in the league. Same way we view the other cups. Not important, bigger fish to fry etc.

Considering we’ve been in Europe for about 10 years straight now our lack of awareness on how to play it is still so bad.

If any other European team had gone down to 10 men with 10 minutes to go in a game they were winning then they would have been using all the shit housing tactics available. A few times before they scored they fouled us but instead of staying down, calling for the physio and eating up the clock and killing any momentum we just popped straight back up and looked to get the ball back into play.

The refs in the champions league are a joke yet somehow the refs in th Europa are even worse which is why I don’t fancy our chances of winning it as we just don’t seem able to “play the refs” aswell as the opposition.

Agree with this, surprised me we didn't shithouse it up after Lloris got send off and still tried to play football, sometimes our team is too honest and naive for it's own good. I thought Poch learnt from the Juve game last season, obviously not.

You have to wonder what teams like Atletico, Real and Juve would have done in that exact position last night.

I did wonder if last nights result would affect team selection for West Ham, go harder at the domestic cups now, although being so soon after the City game probably not.

I like Europa League, and if we finish third in the CL-group, I will actually be quite excited. Will jump straight into the finishing rounds of EL, and from there, who knows? Probably painful destruction, but at least we'll be on a level we should be able to compete at.
