LW/RW - Bakayoko / Neto / Kubo
AM - Eze
CB - Kelly

Would give us fantastic options and depth. I imagine the WF and AM would have to be Summer window though.

If we manage to secure CL then I would like to see us go for another CF if Richy doesnt improve. I know others have said we have no chance but I still believe we could entice Sesko to the club. He is currently rotating with Openda who is having a great season and isnt completely out of our price range (currently but could change depending on how he gets on this season).

Can see Højbjerg and Lo Celso going in January, as well as losing half our midfield for AFCON, so think it’d be worth bringing in another centre mid. Redondo has been touted (and it’s the end of the Argentinian season). Seen articles about Vermeeren from Antwerp and Hackney from Middlesbrough who look like exciting prospects. None are similar to Devine and I don’t think we have someone of that profile anywhere near the first team.

Vermereen is very impressive.

If we're going down this route though, Bergvall as a playmaking no.6 would be the one for me.

I know he's only 17 but you can see he's already got the self assurance to play at this level.

Probably our best and only chance to sign him, as he'll be on the Ajax / Leipzig > City / Madrid / Bayern career pathway by the summer.

We should be watching Vermereen, Redondo and Gabriel Moscardo.
Chelsea were supposedly close to Moscardo so he will cost a fair whack but yeah incredibly mature for a 17 year old.

Marcos Leonardo currently on a hattrick. Just has that knack of being in the right place at the right time and getting the ball into the net.

Was watching the game, he’s been really impressing me. Wonder where he will end up. Probably Chelsea will be in for him.

His agents would be idiots if they allowed that to happen considering Deivid Washington went there.
Agree, and that pretty much goes for any young player but with a big enough contract offer + agent fees unfortunately I think they won’t struggle too much.

I think today showed we need to continue improving the squad.

Without Son we looked light for options in the final 3rd. I didn't really see Skipp or Hojbjerg helping us get 3 points and we still need a 3rd quality centre back.

Eze is coming up to 18 months left on his contract.

Lloyd Kelly will have 6 months, but usually the player prefers to go on a free as he has more options and can claim a better salary if there's no transfer fee.

Bowen would be an excellent signing but I can't see West Ham selling him mid season, not sure they'd sell to us at all.

Mitouma is another coming up to 18 months left. Brighton never seem reluctant to sell.

Mitouma is the one I'd be going for.
Neto is the one I would be going for. I wanted him from before his injury. Rumours are Arsenal are interested. I’d be gutted if he went there.

Need to do
CB - I’d be looking specifically for someone that can comfortably play RCB and LCB. Romero and VdV have struck up a great partnership, but I’ve not seen any evidence that either could comfortably swap to the other side of Defence. Therefore someone capable of covering both of them is where we need to go, and then let Phillips and Dorrington share the responsibility off being 4th CB. Keep the pathway open. Adarabioyo as a HG option seems best shout, and I did see the merits of Chalobah too. Schurrs as a non HG option could work. Kelly I do like the look of, but he strikes me as a VdV cover option only, can’t see him playing RCB if Romero is out.

DM/CM/AM - I look at the current setup, and Bissouma looks the outlier as the only DM with the blend of technical skills and also athleticism to dominate that area. Skipp and Hojbjerg have the tenacity, but neither have the same skillset or dynamism to bring the ball out and beat the press through a clever touch or burst of pace. Maddison at the opposite end of midfield, does in theory have Lo Celso to understudy, but unfortunately he appears to be injured more than he’s available. I’d let GLC and PEH go, then bring in someone able to do the Bissouma role, or the Maddison role depending on whether we see Bentancur and Sarr as able to cover a Bissouma as 6/8’s or Maddison as 8/10’s. Skipp, maybe keep, maybe loan. PL ready player, I’d like to see us go for Douglas Luiz, or as a more developing option, Redondo. Gallagher as a more orthodox 8 if we think Bentancur and Sarr can cover Bissouma and Maddison, would help our HG numbers. 2 out, only one in, let’s make use of Devine and Donley to show your players their is a pathway at Spurs.

WF/CF - Perisic’s injury makes me feel we need another wide player. However, the option to push Richarlison or Son back LWF, could be we go for a CF with movement and ball striking that suits Ange’s style (see Furuhashi was used at Celtic). I like Marcos Leonardo for this, however if Richarlison and Son stay central, I wouldn’t be stunned to see us go for Jota.

Good to do
LB - Udogie just looks stand out at LB, Davies is a good level below. Emerson and Porro a bit closer levels at RB. Maybe if a player suitable is available we could look to upgrade here. Maybe that’s where Kelly could fit in? Could Sess come good and mean we don’t need to look here? I see some talking about looking to bring Cirkin back, but I’ve not tracked his progress enough to comment.

GK - Vicario has slotted in very well. I do worry about the drop off to Forster. Not sure if this is something we need to look at just yet though.

A LW or RW that can go around the outside, or get Deki and Solomon comfortable switching mid game.

Do Pedro Neto and Kubo play predominantly on the right? I feel like with Kulusevski and Johnson we are fairly sorted on the right and therefore a LW is more of an issue.

Unless Ange wants to play Johnson on the left long term? I wonder 🤔

I mean ether Neto or Mitouma would be fantastic. Neto is still only 23 so has more room to develop then Mitouma who’s 26 but really ether would be a quality signing. I’m sure both will move by summer I just worry we might be priced out of Neto considering his contract length.

Some of Neto’s best games this season have come from him playing on the left. Kubo can play on the left but he’s been playing mostly down the right this season and I’m not sure how effective he is on the opposite flank. Both are left footed tho.

It’s going to be interesting to see where Ange plays Johnson. Must say I was surprised to see him start on the left against Arsenal. Makes one wonder if he prefers his wingers to be inverted. If that’s the case then we would actually need a RW rather then a LW anyway.

If we are looking for a right footer tho then Mitoma or Nico Williams should be our top targets I guess.

Eze is the one for me. I want him to join spurs so bad
Agreed, he seems like the perfect attacking addition for us IMO.

Will have 18 months left on his contract in January.

Provides cover and competition for Madison and a proper LW option for us.

Is a CAA Base client.

Is Home Grown.

I reckon a £60m bid in January will get him.

We need a couple in January and then I expect a busy summer if we get Champions league. We will need to build the squad out, we are light on options in certain areas.

The Liverpool game just strengthens the argument that we are absolutely desperate for a truly elite wide player. Someone who can score goals, has explosive pace but also so importantly is a 2 way dribbling master.

Deki can dribble but his lack of explosiveness really hurts his effectiveness from a standing start, both in terms of exploding to the byline but also trying to quickly explode inside to shoot.

Solomon is a tricky dribbler but currently he isn't 2 way enough. Keeps cutting inside.

Johnson isn't a dribbler but he does have the elite pace and potential scoring threat.

But there is a huge hole in our starting 11 for that explosive, 2 way dribbling master and it's the missing piece in our starting 11. If we could sign someone of the same standard and level as the likes of Udogie, VdV, Maddison etc in that position, I think we potentially become title challengers.

So often the ball gets moved out wide in good areas and we just fail to truly capitalise and make things happen out there. There is no one out wide where you feel like they are truly going to tear the opposition apart. I think that separates us from the likes of Scum, City and Pool.

The club should throw big money at Mitoma, Neto or Nico Williams (or Nusa I guess if we want a young talent).
