Not that it’s surprising but even if there is any truth to our interest I think there’s little to no chance he comes here.
What makes you say that? I've always thought Levy was the money man at Spurs and controls everything regarding income/outgoings.The narrative that we don’t do early deals because of Levy is as incorrect as it is tedious.

It’s how the transfer market works, it’s far from specific to Levy.

Bloody hell he looks about 10 years old.
I thought there were reports that we could spend about £400mill before we hit FFP?
This only remotely works for us if we can actively convince wonderkids like Echeverri there's a clear pathway into the first team much sooner than the likes of City and Chelsea and offer a better financial package to trump cash strapped Barcelona.
Being realistic, I can't see us being the overall preferred option but a year or two down the line i'd like to think we can be in a better position to compete for top young worldwide talent.
My memory is foggier by the day, but I don’t recall many early January deals over the last six years. As for Levy, by no means is it a generalization, but how many times have our own ITK said he has impeded deals? Dozens? A few dozen? I have no agenda against Levy. Think the bulk of everything I’ve posted supports that. But when the same refrain about his tendency to get overly involved in transfers, and haggling other teams to submission, it’s not hard to assume that he “could” be a bottleneck. The fact that we do early deals all the time and other clubs do late deals all the time.

Any agent who wants the best for their player will be wise to turn Chelsea down. This only remotely works for us if we can actively convince wonderkids like Echeverri there's a clear pathway into the first team much sooner than the likes of City and Chelsea and offer a better financial package to trump cash strapped Barcelona.

Speaking of the Italian market...Dragusin looks like a really solid option for us. Young, versatile, high quality player with good physical attributes for the system. And, given our solid track record recruiting from Italy, he looks like a really solid link.
Of course, I don't know the first thing about this player or the source that this is coming from but this has cropped up on the front page.London-based Tottenham is eyeing the acquisition of Girona's winger, Viktor Tsyhankov, in the upcoming winter transfer window, as reported by Futbol Total.
It's indicated that the British club is prepared to meet the clause specified in the contract of the Ukrainian footballer, set at 30 million euros.

Girona is a Spanish club owned by the city group, Genoa is the Italian one.Speaking of the Italian market...

Silly season is coming and the links are going to be plentiful.
What you say is true. We do early deals all the time but the problem is it's rarely the key players that are desperately required, and it's not players that would/could make an immediate impact that are brought in early. It's usually prospects or "good financial/contractual deals" that are tied up quickly before others can gazump us. Porro was a good example of this last January. We were desperate from day one for a RWB and the whole world knew it, yet we got him on the final day, despite negotiating for the best part of 6 weeks. The fact that we do early deals all the time and other clubs do late deals all the time.
