I refuse to believe that Mourinho told us to defend 1 - 0 at half time...there is zero chance that any one with a footballing brain especially a man who has won everything can be that naive. The players must be having trouble adjusting to the counter attack from low block. That is the only logical explanation.

If it was a one off the sure i think your probably right. However Its the same situation every week though! If he is not telling the players to play like that then he has a bigger problem as would suggest he has lost the dressing room for the fact they do the same week in week out

Forget the tactics for a moment and look at the players today. Kane and Son were both very poor. They look absolutely knackered and we need more rotation there with Vini, Bale, Moura, Dele etc. We can't expect these two to be our entire scoring threat each week.

The tactics can work if we use our entire squad.

I do think we're all over-reacting a bit despite the tendency towards negative football. We are still only 5 points off the top of the table. I personally hope Mou will change it up and get us back in contention.

To be honest just shows how average most teams are in the premiership this season.

Also, I'm not going to be hypocritical about this turgid football.

I didn't like it when we were winning and I don't like it when we are not.

Noone dare tell me I'm not a Spurs fan because I feel like this.

I love Spurs all my life because no matter how shit we are we always turned up to play a game of football, win or lose.

There needs to be midfield focal point. Most of the rest of our team picks itself but the midfield doesn't . All the best teams have a settled midfield or a recognised tempo setter. Kroos,Modric,Thiago ,Goretzka,Jorginho at napoli, Xavi, Riquelme etc.

If we want to be a title challenging side we need an engine room . We were at our best over the last decade with wither Modric or Dembele in midfield.

It’s more frustration especially on my behalf because every other top side in the league isn’t at it. This season is such a good opportunity and we aren’t taking it

But we have played this way all season
Yes, we have, and that’s becoming the problem - we’re easy to predict and play against. He deserves more time, obviously, because I trust he has a clear plan in his head and he needs time to get the players in that he wants, but such a wily and intelligent manager should be able to come up with some kind of variation in our play in the meantime. Just conceding possession and hoping to pick teams off on the break won’t work all the time. Fulham, for example, will come to us and sit deep, be very disciplined and hard to beat. Will we play the same way against them? I suspect that we will.

I think fans of every club in the top half of the league will be saying the same.

Very disappointing point, tactically tragic again from bourinho. Wasting a golden generation of offensive players by asking the other 9 to defend first. Have no issue with trying to be solid defensively or wth putting fresh legs on but ndombele was having an excellent game, sissoko should have been for winks (on a yellow) or son, who looked very leggy

Who was calling it that? I think most of us would agree that this squad has needed an overhaul for nearly 2 years. It can't be done in 2 windows.

The squad still needs a big overhaul.

Sanchez
Aurier
Winks
Moura
Sissoko
Bale
Dele (not that I want him to)
Doherty (been disappointing but don’t see why we bought him if we weren’t going to play wing backs. Could keep as a back up for when we do play that system but need a new RB)
Lamela (I like him but he is too injury prone)

All of the above should be available to be moved on if the right offers come in (and in some cases even if they don’t).

Need a new RB, RWF, CF, 2 CM (Hojberg back up and a box to box) and a CB.

I've been a fan of Jose but we've far too much attacking talent to be that negative.

There's a huge imbalance there and its got out of control now.

Yes I generally agree but it’s a minor tweak not anything to throw toys out of the pram for and sweeping statements as I’m done and BS like that

thats it in a nutshell. best passer on our team is the centre forward. We need a midfield.

We have a midfield. We brought Ndombele as an 8 be nice if we actually played him there next to Hojbjerg. Resolves all progression from defence to midfield issues we have if he plays there

We really need an Eriksen type player. If we add Bruno Fernandes to that team we would be challenging for the title. Moutinho and the other Wolves midfielders were dissecting us with simple attacking passing. Winks was lobbing it into the Wolves keepers hands.

funny anecdote. Dohertys father ( i know i know) reckons his best position is centre back. Apparently he played there in the past.
