Really good cup tie, that's two exciting 2 2s in our last two cup games.
Well done to Nuno, got some big calls right, Skipp and Kane the stand out performers for me. Still can't believe Kane didn't score that header, what a save from Ruddy

Gill is a feisty fella. Fearless and effective against Traore. Insane energy, bags of talent, and he’s only just started.

The bigger clubs tend to strengthen their teams as the tournament progresses so wouldn’t have been terrible drawing them now.
Get them in the semi or final and they’ll be tougher.

I agree but for one I feel like we'd struggle either way and secondly we'd have to face at least one of them later anyway. I actually think our only chance of winning this is through severe luck in the draw, as in us getting a favourable draw and the big sides drawing each other plus going on to lose to lesser sides.

Yes, but it's also West Ham who are creeping me out right now.

.

Same, I just didn't mention them as it sounds more doom-like mentioning just the other teams :D

Didn't see the game, but the Spurs site said it was a 4:2:3:1, with Ndoms in the 2. Is that what it looked like on the pitch?

Film with a cine camera apparently. State of the picture!
It was generally totally shite.
No real discussion about any of the games and the commentary on what they classed as highlights was terrible.
It just cut to a player lining up for a penalty, with no mention at all that the game had gone to pens. At first I was like, "I don't remember wolves getting a pen?!" before I twigged what was going on.
Like the West Ham game, they spent the punditry time discussing whether Noble should have referred to them as B-teams, rather than anything that happened during the game.

Makes you appreciate how decent the BBC are.

I’d say it was more 4-3-3 with Ndombele and Alli in the three with Skipp, then Lo Celso inverted on the right, Gil on the left. It wasn’t absolutely rigid, though, so there was interchanging between midfield and attack, with only Skipp really holding his position.

I was impressed with Gil. Really energetic performance in both attack and defence. If he can develop physically while building on his technical foundations he‘s an exciting prospect and already making his case for inclusion in the first XI more often.

Just saw the highlights, definitely a foul on ndombele for equaliser I believe

Don't think everyone is going to agree on that particular moment mate, if the comments immediately after it are any measure.

Some think it was, some think it wasn't. For me, the answer could be either, but what I didn't personally like, was how he clearly expected the foul to be given & went down like a 7 stone teenager.

Sanchez is the same & I just don't get it. Bloody 6ft+ of muscle bound athletes but just seem to lack actual strength.

Could it be a simple lack of desire? After all, I also saw 20/21 year old Gil & Skipp pretty much bully the muscle ladened oil slick that is Traore without too much hassle.

I thought the challenge on Tanguy was fair.
I was delighted by Gil and Skippy - have they done enough o be considered as starters for Sunday ?

Jack grealish, mo Salah, sterling, Harry Kane, often go down and stay down for a lot less contact.
And are often awarded the freekick

Looked like 433 to me, but with dele on the right and ndom on the left which was different. Also quite fluid for example dele and glc switching positions and the front 3 rotating.

another key difference was Kane playing high up the pitch as a #9 and also dele getting into the box a lot more often. Every time Gill crossed from the left dele was close to the 6 yard box.

overall a really promising performance and nice to see us creating so many chances. Still plenty to work on but at least there is clear progress and positive intent.

I think Grealish is far and away the most fouled player in either of the top two divisions over the last few years. For me, that doesn't mean (as some would suspect) that I think he's the most targeted player because of his outstanding talent, just that he's the biggest cheating scrote in British football and as soon as someone's shadow touches him, he goes down screaming, holding his leg and banging the turf until he gets his free kick. That's why he's so bloody dangerous in and around the area.

£100 million. Sweet baby Jesus. (n)
