World Cup - are any of you going to SA next summer?

Are any of you guys heading out to South Africa to watch the World Cup next summer?

I've booked my flights and have tickets to watch the Ivory Coast. So was delighted they got an interesting group. The location of the games is quite inconvenient and generally nowhere near the previous match. Anyone else got tickets for any of the games? How are you planning to travel around?

Live in SA, and am a varsity student. So travel isn't much of an issue can't wait for it to be honest

Yeah im going, got 4 sets of tickets, three in Johannesburg-we're going to the Germany-Ghana game, and then if all goes well, we should be seeing Argentina vs Mexico in the next round and England vs France in the quarters, as well as the other semi-final.

Old man and his missus are there. They've done every WC and EC since 1990. Got tickets for three games and just found out one of them is Spain - result.

The way FIFA have organised it is crazy. The country is huge and the group games are all randomly located. They seem to have made little effort to even keep a certain team in the same area. I'm sure the local airline had a say in this. You quite often have to travel 1000km in 3 days.

What's the best way of travelling around? Will flight be incredibly expensive/sold out or will they put on shuttle flights to meet demand? Has South Africa got a decent train syterm? If so does anyone know if its safe?

I may be going but nothing finalised yet.

A mate of mine was raised in SA and still has friends all over the country. He's been told he has places to stay and can bring friends so that's nice

We're still in the seeing what tickets can be arranged for us all before anything gets finalised.
