Would you Stick, or Klopp?

Theoretical really, as it wouldn't happen and I am far from convinced he'd come even if we tried, but...

If you were Chairman, would you consider removing Pochettino in favour of appointing Jürgen Klopp?

So that's the referendum question... a few things I think about the subject are...
  • Klopp is a winner, he transformed Dortmund in the time he was there.
  • He did it on a limited budget.
  • He could well go to Liverpool and do it there, increasing further the difficulty of attaining a top 4 position.
  • He could attract some serious players, not just Dortmund players, but he has real status in the game.
  • He is entertaining! Both his football, which is combative and 'forward' and his personality.
  • He sticks at clubs, his tenure at both his previous sides was 7 years and wasn't sacked from either, he resigned when he felt it right to go.
  • There are, however, no guarantees.
  • He has only ever managed in Germany.
  • His combative style is more unusual in Germany, it is more typical here and may not achieve such dramatic results.
  • Pochettino is building a team and it's clear his style is becoming embedded, with our young side adapting well.
  • It is hard to know how he would get on with the senior individuals at any new club, let alone Daniel Levy.
  • He may be able to attract players, but can the club afford them, or are they actually willing to splash the cash.
  • Wouldn't it be funny if we continued to finish above Liverpool even with Klopp in charge?
  • He might not settle in England and may want to return to Germany, which would be particularly galling if things are going well on the pitch.
I guess it's a tough call, at least it would be to me. In reality it would be expensive to get rid of Poch and there are no guarantees with Klopp, not to mention the fact Poch is doing a decent job with the resources he has and is steadily improving things in a methodical and logical way. But ignoring the financial aspect I guess I just hate the idea of Klopp going to Liverpool and would hate it even more if he takes them above us on a regular basis.

What do you all think?

At this stage in our development - we have to stick.
we need the stability and we are starting to put a long term vision into place.

if Poch was the right man at the start of this season, then there is no reason to change - however high caliber a manager is available.

Nowt against Klopp - more around where we are and what we need.

Stick for me. Poch is getting there and is proving himself here. Think he'll be good for us for a while yet and that he has more to give.

Klopp may turn out to be brilliant here but people like him because of his personality as much as his football skillz.

No point taking a risk, rebuilding the squad again for someone who'll be off to Bayern as soon as they're in for him.

Stick for me, an easy choice to make. If you ask me the same question about Ancelotti it would be harder to answer, but I would still stick with Poch.

I wasn't in the poch club ,ok I didn't want him full stop but...
The answer for any half Sane chairman has to be stick and must be ,we have just spent a year and a half building something, to start again now would be detrimental to the players club Fans and probably even the canteen staff poch has to be given a minimum of 3 seasons and probably 5 to reap any reward from the hard graft gone in to getting us just to this stage

So klopp can klip klopp off to the land of the deluded if he is stupid enough to take them pathetic wasters on good luck to him :dead:

If we didnt have a manager and the choice was there, I'm sure most would chose Klopp. With Poch currently in the job and slowly stamping his mark on the club and team with the benefits for all to see, it would set us back years again by appointing anyone else. I'm excited by whats happening at Spurs. Yes some results will still hurt, but things are happening at the club.

a good foreign manager abroad doesn't guarantee a good PL manager. Ramos anyone!?? I don't doubt that klop will be successful at LFC but I don't think its going to be in instant success and saviour some of their idiot fans think he is. I don't think ive ever wanted to beat LFC more then the next game.

I honestly don't think that Klopp has done enough to justify ripping apart what Poch has put in place and what is starting to reap rewards.

Don't get me wrong, Klopp had 2-3 seasons of brilliant success at Dortmund, and if he's given the time and control necessary at Liverpool there's a good chance he'll do well there.

But he's far from a sure thing. He's only managed in the Bundesliga, which for all its pluses is still a much weaker league than the Premier League. He also seemed to struggle when things went badly for them in his last season, so there's no guarantee that he has a plan B when teams figure out his approach.

If Poch was sacked now (for whatever reason) then Klopp would certainly be top of/near the top of the list of managers I'd want to come in at Spurs. But that doesn't mean I'd make that change now if given the option.

Liverpool need the sort of change that Spurs have already begun. On that basis, I would stick.. we're moving forward quite quickly as it is.

I wasn't in the Poch in camp I wanted LVG.
But now I wouldn't swap him for anyone.
But I'm a football fan and things can change very quickly.

You also didn't mention that Klopp's English, while pretty good, isn't great. He had trouble understanding a journo at a press conference who had a pretty standard southern English accent, so let's see how he gets on with the scousers eh? :)

Poch is doing well, we haven't lost in the league since the opening game, and that was a game we didn't deserve to lose either.

Progression is there for everyone to see this season, when things start to click, we could surprise a few people this year.
