Not saying he was my favourite ever, but people often overlook Berbatov for obvious reasons. Honestly, that guy did things I've never seen before with a football. His skill, not just unbelievable goals, yeah he was incredible and it's such a shame how it ended.

Although Bale seems to get a pass as he went abroad, he downed tools too, and wore, very stupid pink short shorts.

I was in the Gary Lineker fan club as a boy. I can only just about remember the 91 cup final, Italia 90 was my earliest football memory, supported Spurs thinking they were England with Gazza and Gary, white and blue, so I suppose I'd have to say one of them two, otherwise I'd be supporting someone else. Bunch of prats the pair of them ?

Gareth Bale for me. The ability he has and the way he made us competitive single handedly are the best memories I have of spurs.

Great to watch, no doubt about it. And he's openly stated that he regrets leaving the club.

But he jumped ship as soon as he was told he wouldn't be a guaranteed starter & would have to earn his place in the team.

Ruined him for me.

I think rather than jumping ship, he was having marital problems and was trying to save his marriage as his wife wanted out of England.

Bale for me, in my early 30's and Welsh so absoloutely adore Bale. I still think he is the best player I've seen at the club. Others have better records but it's crazy to think other than Messi and Ronaldo, he was the best player in the world.

Have to say King runs him close, I love that man. Others who are close are Defoe, Lennon and Sandro (just love him).

I think in years to come, some of the current players will enter contention. I do feel it is a lot harder to pick one player from the recent team as my favourite. By far my favourite time supporting the club and a large part of that was every player from 1 to 11 was great.

Nah mate.

Andre Villas-Boas wasn’t the ideal coach for me. He bought Gylfi Sigurdsson and then told me he would be his new No.10. I found that a little bit strange considering what I’d achieved over the previous two years. I started the first match of the season on the subs’ bench, so when Hamburg approached me, I thought it was a nice opportunity to go back"...

It’s hard to call, Lineker and Gazza were the players that made me support spurs in 1990, however I was too young to really understand the game. Bale is definitely the most exciting I’ve seen, but Van der Vaart just has that something that made him undeniably Spurs, so very good, had a real connection with the fans. Just love him so much!!!

Darren Anderton. Underrated by anyone outside of Spurs.
Not sure where to put this but Darren Anderton is the guest on this week's episode of the Ben & Kammy Proper Football podcast.

It's a good listen and he is affectionate towards the Spurs fans, about how he was treated despite his difficult start.
Brings how a certain vocal minority are treating some of our players these days into stark perspective.
