Giving this an 80's flavour......

Hoddle v Manchester United
Hoddle v Watford
Hoddle v Oxford
Villa v Man City
Ardiles v Manchester United

There are very many goals that came to mind afterwards, some of which have already been named but these popped into what passes for my brain first so.............:D
Missed Hoddle vs Nottingham Forest ?

Ginola goal against Barnsley was in the league cup I think.
Nope. 100% FA cup quarters, near the edge, at 0-0 to win it for us after we’d struggled all game (with Ginola himself also not at his best until that moment).

We went on to lose the semi final to Newcastle at Olds Trafford after being denied a stonewall penalty at the death for a Dabizas infraction before they won it 2-0 in extra time with a pen and an unbelievable long range goal from Shearer.

We did win the league cup that season though, and played about 17 matches against Wimbledon with Joe Kinnear missing all 73 fouls on Ginola apparently, but Iversen’s chip to win the semi v them was a delight.

So many great goals in here so I won't repeat them.

In terms of unexpected goals, anyone remember the screamer from Mbulelo Mabizela?

I’m putting this one is as well

I still have incredibly vivid memories of this goal. I was around 14 and I remember it was back when the internet wasn't really on phones, but you could watch football highlights, episodes of Angry Kid etc. I can still recall watching this over and over and not understanding how it hadn't been given.

All based on emotion rather than quality.

1. Moura (3rd) v Ajax
2. Crouch v City
3. Kaboul v Arsenal (3-2)
4. Lennon v Arsenal (4-4)
5. Keane v Chelsea (4-4)

Can’t look beyond Mouras 3rd against Ajax on the emotion side. I’ve never lost my shit so much at a goal to be followed by absolute stunned silence as it sunk in that we had just made it to the final.

Repeating many others but remaining ones for me are.
  • Crouch vs Milan (mainly for Lennon breaking and being in no doubt that we were going to score)
  • Eriksen vs Madrid (disbelief at what I was watching as we comfortably bossed them at Wembley)
  • Crouch vs City (made me believe we could actually compete for the first time)
  • Pav vs Inter (Bale emerging onto the world scene as a genuine world class talent in a Spurs shirt)

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned VDV's goal against Villa away in December 2010? A wonderful counter-attacking goal which is definitely one of my favourites.

Without too much thought going into it.

Rose 100 yarder v Arsenal
Lennon vs Chelsea (Keane assist)
Moura v Ajax (3rd)
Bale volley v Stoke

Could choose 20 more.

Up at Leicester that one in a much needed 2-1 win when Pleaty looked like he might take us down. For me:

1. Gazza's free kick
2. Crouch's goal at City
3. Llorente's at City
4. Lucas at Ajax
5. Kane at Dortmund (for personal reasons. I found out that day my mother wasn't going to make it and that goal gave me an incredible release of emotion)

Lucas would be undoubtedly top of that list had we not shat all over our run with the limp performance in the final. The pure emotion of his goal was only rivalled by Llorente's at City and Crouchy's at City.

The goal that gave me the biggest roller-coaster of emotion was Sterling's one against us in injury time at City. I've never gone from such anxiety, to such a low, to such euphoria in a matter of seconds. And to know thousands felt it with me while thousands more felt the inverse emotions was just mind blowing.

For pure aesthetic beauty, I'd be looking at Hoddle against Oxford, Forest or Watford, Bale against Stoke, Lineker against Porto or Kane v Arsenal.

Ah it's wonderful to support this club even if they do make a habit of breaking your heart and disappointing you.

Moura's 3rd is one of the most dramatic goals in football history without question. For the magnitude of the game and sheer unbelievable, what the hell just happened, drama of the occasion.

It can't be beaten in my opinion as the biggest spurs goal in the last 30 years.

Just personal favs

gazza free kick Arsenal
Klinsmans first and the bomber celebration afterwards
Big Vic against Liverpool just came from nowhere and never expected
Ricky against Coventry sat watching completely mesmerised
And probably my absolute favourite simply because I was watching it with my grandson his first match ever Eric’s Rabona and seeing the look of utter amazement and excitement from a seven year old it will live me forever so thank you Eric

The mentions of Lennon in here because of some of the important moments he had like Crouchy against Milan has reminded me of one of my favourite things from Spurs attacks when he was really on it...

The sound of the the chairs at WHL swinging shut as a wave of people stood up - starting at those closest to him and then moving across the stand. As soon as he gave that first burst of acceleration the fans were excited and expectant. And it sounds silly - but I loved that 'wave of clunks' rippling across the stand.

The weird stuff you realise you appreciate.. strange... :ROFLMAO:

Miss WHL...

1. Pavlyuchenko Vs Young Boys
2. Pavlyuchenko Vs Wolves
3. Pavlyuchenko Vs Liverpool
4. Pavlyuchenko Vs Bolton
5. Pavlyuchenko Vs Birmingham
Pav vs Liverpool is one of my all time favourites too, especially against Liverpool. That game is as big as any but the NLD over here in Ireland for me such Is the amount of fans they have and the amount of friends I have that support them.

I always remember going ballistic in the pub with 3 other Spurs mates and the rest of the pub sinking into their seats when that went in.

Was the Ginola one in the same game that Darren Anderton scored a very similar goal? Can vaguely remember them both scoring lovely goals in a cup game.
You're thinking of Leeds at home in the cup. Two fantastic goals that night.
