I haven't actually read this thread, and I hope that, despite his miss when 1 on 1, he was our best player against Chelsea! And was actually pretty good last night...

There's a lot of hysteria at the moment, but I do think that in the cold light of day, Zokora just isn't good enough. He's not an appalling player, but he's not good enough for Spurs. He never really looked like he settled in English football. He obviously has some good attributes, but as a holding midfielder he finds himself out of his depth far too often.

I suspect he'll be sold in the summer, as will a lot of other players.

Zokora adds nothing to the team, he just leaves a big gap in midfield. Never seen a premiership player with a worst first touch or an £8 million midfielder who cant tackle, pass or shoot. We would never have beaten arsenal with him in the side. The guy just runs around chasing shadows. Hudd or even Tainio must be picked ahead of him

WHy oh why does the manager insist on playing this useless wreck of a player?
He brings absolutely nothing, except mistake after mistake. How he lasted 90 minutes, I will never know!
And even against Chelsea, how this absolute trash of a player was in the starting XI, only Ramos will know!

Who agrees with me?
And who agrees that tHudd or tanio are fare better partners for JJ?

And who thinks Robinsons constant hoofing long balls up - to no effect- were pointless? As when we played, building up with the ball on the deck, we were far more creative and dangerous and effective, besides players like Lennon, Taarbt and malbranque need to be given a chance to get into the game, and they're not the type to thrive off long balls.

Typical, regurgitated, generic, scapegoat, nonsense.

Flaws in his game i am sure, as there are for many players. His workrate is immense and his ability to track back and often save our defenders from embarrasment has obviously not gone unnoticed by Ramos.

I can probably find faults in all of our midfield players - but i can't be asked.

Playing Zokora is like tying an anchor to JJ's leg.
We play some superb football during the African Cup of Nations. This is no coincidence.
Zokora is suppose to be a defensive midfielder, someone like Makelee, collect the ball from Defence, and make the simple pass, but if anyone watch the game will see that Zokora is always making himself UNAVAILABLE. Woody and King always have to make those searching passes.

When people are berating Zokora they should remember that if the club hadn't of sold Carrick it would never have got the money to buy Darren Bent .

Zokora is a terrible DCM. He is the most disappointing signing we have made for a long time.

I don't know who was the worst signing? Rebrov, Postiga or Zokora.

He works hard and gotta say he does some great interceptions and tackles, his job is to defend so he's never going to set the world alight. However i feel with Hudd we become much more creative and Tainio offers also a bit more creativity and ability. Also both can shoot and have some ability attacking wise, Zokora on the other hand will NEVER score a goal. I think for what he does he's under-rated and for example our performance yesterday wasn't down to individuals rather a poor team performance

Friends,
Zokora isn't being blasted for no reason. We as Spurs have aspirations to break into the top four, and with Zokora getting a starting place in our first XI means we will NEVER be able to break in.
His performances are consistently poor. He did NOT play a 'blinder' against Chelsea, he gave away stupid free kicks, was responsible for their goal too, and that means he was (almost) a liability - perhaps according to his own poor standard, relatively, his performance might have been Blinding, but there are far better options than him in our squad.

The whole aim of this forum is discussion and to let our thoughts, opinions and findings be laid bare for others to comment upon, agree or disagree, and this unfortunately involves slating players who are simply not up to it.
We pay good money to watch this team play and thus are involved in paying the players wages, therefore we have the RIGHT to slate any player which we feel plays or has played poorly or well.

In this case I feel Zokora warrants a good written hiding by friends in this forum. in my opinion He's shit, played shit in every top game we've played him in, and I think he should be dropped, then SOLD.

As for Robbo's long balls, indeed, after several hoofs probability states that one chink in the armour of the PSV defence may well be found and breached, but probability states that we've more of a chance of breaching defences when using our wingers and midfielders passing and moving with the ball on the deck.

There was over 20 minutes yet to go and Spurs panicked needlessly. It should've been very different.
We're a better team than PSV, I firmly believe that were are stronger and have more talent on display. I also firmly believe that we will beat them at the Phillips stadium come next week.

some people said Zokora played good game against Chelsea in Carling cup final.

the fact he played only good in 2nd half when we changed the system. But his peformance in 1st half was shocking, 3 no needed fouls in dangerous area. If he wasn't Ramos tactical genius, we would never back to the game like what we did. The first mints in 2nd half ( Before the subs ) were the guide for my words.

PLEASE for these people, go back to saw Zokora Peformance against Chelsea & Birmingham. I like the man but he isn't doing anything good since his return.

He plays his best when we are chasing the game and we take off a CB, this means he can do his blue arsed fly routine and chase everything at the back. When asked to play a proper midfield role he struggles to command.

I think he is a bit of CM/AM rather than DM/CM ..

When he came, he looked skillfull and can beat players.

The possibilty of being CB or DM sometime could be another thing, but looks like his best in more attacking roles or 5 middle men like 2nd half against Chelsea.
