I seriously doubt it. Jol was on about £2 million a year, whilst Ramos is reportedly on about £6 million. So, the compensation they'd have to pay for sacking Ramos so early in his contract would be huge. Ontop of that, Comolli would have to go (Levy said he'd take the balme if Ramos failed) and again compensation would have to paid. With Jol they thought they had someone better they could turn to, but it's unlikley we could attract a big name now. So the financial implications and lack of decent alternatives will mean Ramos is far more secure than Jol was. With Jol, Levy had people whispering in his ear that he wasn't a good coach. These are the same people that chose Ramos, so they are also going to defend him, as their reputations are on the line. I think the only way Ramos will get fired is if we are in the bottom 5 at Christmas and even then he might survive until the end of the season.
All true, but I think that if we are in the relegation zone at Christmas he will be sacked. The board will be in panic by then unless the results start coming in--and though everything you said makes perfect sense and is completely true, I think they will push it all aside and look for a quick fix, maybe hire an ex-player or something...under these kinds of conditions, clubs tend not to act logically...who knows what will happen?
I'd feel better about all this if we were playing better football...
