I'm getting really annoyed with fickle fans

Its not very often i post on here (but visit every day), but over the last few weeks I've become so frustrated with so many supposed fans.

When Harry first came almost everyone was over the moon with the start he made and we had the messiah talk, 'magic harry' etc... but now a few results have gone against us and suddenly he has no idea. Lets not forget he has inherited a team that Ramos couldn't get to work (and look at his track record and what he is now doing with Real Madrid), but has managed to be able to get us some points on the board and on the brink of a Carling Cup final again. His track record speaks volumes, but he has to do it with players HE feels can do the job.

Another thing that really gets me is our, we think we are Man United supporters transfer policy. In the summer we could have probably bought big names (Pav, Modric and almost Arshavin etc...) but now we are fighting for our lives and players of such calibre just won't entertain us. All this, we are paying too much for Defoe, we are better than Downing, Bellamy is a thug, Palacios is not good enough and too much money is rubbish, they are the best we can hope for this window and I for one would rather those players be in the team than the under-performing prima donas we currently have on show. As for Bellamy I would welcome him with open arms. He has had his troubles, but he is showing good form at the moment and he is a battler. We dont have anyone in the team at the moment who carries such a characteristic (not really since Keane left)

Lets get behind Harry, he is certainly not a bad manager. I for once think once he gets us through this rocky season and gets his own players in the summer and some this january the only way is up.

Yes we all have a right to criticise, cos we pay our money and turn up to watch performances such as that at Wigan, but to say Harry is awful, he has turned our transfer policy into a shambles is stupid. I'd rather pay 14m for Palacios than 5m for KPB!

Come on you Spurs

I'm not fickle. But I am completely pissed off with inconsistency.

I don't know about fickle, but many spurs fans are consistent moaners and whingers and have been at it for decades

they've done their damndest to ruin many a player and manager (not always the same people in each case) so there's no likelihood of HR getting special treatment in view of recent results and some bizarre decisions

I must admit I'm on the verge of joining the moaners and whingers, simply because I'm so **** off with the rest of them

I'm trying to stay positive, but if we don't get a LB and back up gk in soon, and if certain players are driven out of the club, not to mention if we're still in the bottom 3 come monday, then negative is likely to become my mind set too

i agree with OP i was going to post a similar thread. We need to get behind the team and trust was Harry does, he knows more about the game than any person on this forum. Im sure we wont be getting relegated this season, ive already wrote this season off in terms of the league, but i can see us winning the Carling Cup again and sealing our fate for another year in Europe! dont worry, things will come good, just give people time and get off there backs (bentley included).

Unfortunately there are alot of fickle fuckers at WHL these days, it seems to be accepted to constantly abuse your own players for some reason. Maybe cos its fashionable to do it or something.
I've always got behind the team 100% whether we've a world class striker of jurgen klinsmann's calibre or shit like gregor spasiak in a Tottenham shirt.

We have a right to moan, but surely you cant do that after a manager has been in the job for 2 months using the same players a supposedly World Class manager couldnt gel. At least he is being open and honest about the problems we have and doesn't hide it from the fans like other managers have and do. Also by coming out im sure he wants an opposite reaction from the players, spur them on and if they can't rise to the challenge, ship them out.

Some fans might like to take a few cheap shots at the players but they certainly help by supplying plenty of ammunition. I'm not a booer, I try to remain positive but I won't have it that our fans are a major problem. Most other clubs wouldn't have a fanbase left after some of the shit Spurs put us through but there we are every week, still dreaming that maybe some day we can turn up at a game and have some idea what kind of performance lies ahead of us.

Fair enough - there's a lot about HR I admire, but I'm not happy about the things I've already mentioned (bizarre decisions include leaving an injured gk on the pitch BTW - I'm still waiting to see if Gomes iis fit for Sunday, and how fit he is when/if he comes out onto the field

anyway as I say, i'm trying to remain positive

we'll know so much more by Monday morning

Hi Dougal - you're entitled to your opinion - I am very very bitter indeed about a large section of our fans and the views that have been expressed on here for example over the past year

they are entitled to their views - I to mine

we've had three good seasons in a row, but over those 3 seasons you'd never believe it with the vitriol and chep shots at various of our players and managers who have achieved that

lots of our fans have been unjustified moaners etc for decades etc

maybe the internet has intensified the problems, stoof (someone who I don't talk to anymore because of the intensity that affects me on chat rooms anyway) says he hates spurs fans thse days (or words to that effect) and I understand his emotions

I don't think moaning about football is exclusive to the Yids and I certainly don't hate Spurs fans for it. Moaning that Spurs fans moan? Alanis, if you're reading this, that could be the inspiration for your song

I don't hate Spurs fans at all, I just think we need to put things in perspective. If any manager likes bringing in new players its harry, but he needs to get them in before we moan at him. Its very obvious we lack balance and he has said this.

Its more the moaning at harry which gets to me. Under DC and JR Tottenham turned into a bit of a joke and that 18 months of silly buying cant be turned round over night. I think a lot of people look at the team and think on Football manager you should do well with them!!

:) Dougal - you're right and I recognise that paradox, but do I care - not particularly - I'm sooooooo incensed with the way things have gone and it seems the victory of the boo boys that I'm beginning to get into the 'if you can't beat them, join them' mode

as I say we'll see what happens, for the moment HR still gets my support as do the team (the club always will of course) but we'll know a lot more by Monday as I say

both on and off the pitch

Not just on Football Manager. The players are seriously underachieving.

Well DC, you have something in common with the boo boys, you're both incensed, you just have different ways of showing it.

Get behind the team. If you're at the game this weekend and the score is 0-0 or 1-0 with 15 minutes to go, don't just sit there sh*ting yourself, fearing the worse, SING UP - it will have a massive positive effect.

Oh I know, bitterness, hate etc is a bad thing, but I am mad at lots of them and quite how I deal with it, I'm still trying to work through :)

whatever team HR puts out on Sunday - however much his selection **** me off, which I suspect it will do, I'll be supporting that team and wanting it to win

Since booing has become a hot topic in the build up to the Pompey game I think that it's fine at half or full time if its directed at the team performance but it serves no purpose if you start booing individual players during play.
