When will the doubters start having faith in Harry

its hard not to suceed though when

keane 13 million
palacios 14 mil
defoe 15 mil
crouch 10 mil
bassong 8 mil.

hardly like he is finding unearthed gems or getting old buggers on frees. at those prices the signings better be damn good

Sadly it's the market rate for players these days.

Our spending pales into insignificance compared to Man U, City, Chelsea and Liverpools for the top draw players.

Perhaps we should just be more like Everton and Aston Villa, not strengthen and lose all our influentual players. It's doing them the world of good right now.

You'd be surprised. Look at how much cash we spent during the Ramos reign.

Palacios was £12m and Crouch £9m by the way.

I simply LOVE having a manager that talks again.

Ramos, when we went a goal down just used to putt that weird, gormless face and do NOTHING. Then there was never any explanaition after the game, just Poyet chatting shit.

Harry, like Jol before him, tells it straight, like a real football fan.

Yanno is right, it's the way we played that was key. I was saying that I didn't want us to go with a target man just because we were playing a northern team away and would prefer to use Keane and Defoe and play good football. It worked wonders. But then I did say that I don't think Keane and Defoe have enough cutting edge sometimes. Everyone is right and wrong!

What I like though is that Rednapp won't be afraid to 'mix it up' and play direct football when needed and utilise Crouch and when he can be bothered, Pav. I have no problem with that, it is a variation of tactics not dead, dull long ball football born out of dearth of ideas or creativity. Bill Nick's teams used this a fair amount I believe.

Agree. If we're winning it's natural for Palacios, Modric and Huddlestone to sit more withdrawn, take a breather and just martial that midfield area. By putting Crouch on it means we can get the ball and launch it for a stinging counter attack, with Lennon and Defoe playing off Crouch's knock downs or hold up play.

That money argument has already proven not to be the case. If it's not hard to succeed by spending lots of money, why haven't past managers succeeded? Last summer Ramos spent aroun £67m on Modric, Dos Santos, Gomes, Pavlyuchenko, Bentley and Corluka. We were bottom of the league when he left. In 07/08 we spent circa £55m on Bale, Bent, Kaboul, Gunter, Boateng, Woodgate, Hutton and Gilberto.

Yeah. Buying the right players is a huge part of being a good manager.

Bump!

Or, to put it another way, from Juande Ramos taking us to one of our worst ever league starts to Harry Redknapp taking us to one of our best ever league starts, all in the space of a year...

Yeh the Arry haters really have gone a bit quiet, could it be they've got nothing valid left to say? Could it be that they are in fact as wrong as wrong can be?

He is surley breaking some record with our Prem form. I can't remember winning 3 in a row at the start. Esp when 2 of those were away games.

Harry had FAITH in his starting 11 today even when we lost some steam. Top marks Arrold.

Harry impressed me today bigtime

most were shouting for a sub earlier me included but his patience and superior judgement paid off

Keano probably coulda went off but he played a big part in the build up to the winner with 2 nice passes

I'm going to revise my points expectation a bit - just realized that in the last 14 games last season since Palacios came in, our PPG was enough to give us 73 points if extrapolated over a season. We were in a run of very good form then and it remains to be seen if we can maintain that over a whole season, but I think we have improved this season and ought to push on. So I'd like to see us get 73+ points this season

'Arry is the best manager we have had since Venables and our last 3rd place finish.

I predicted 2 points from our first 3 games maybe 3 at a push.

We have already won 2 away games this season. We never win more than 6 away games all season so enjoy this boys and bring on the Brum.... 12 from 4 ? OMG

So I guess you're definitely a 'glass half empty' person.

The Brum match worries me, it could be where the complacency bug rears its ugly head. We need to make sure we knuckle down for the 3 points but hopefully some of the key players will have had a rest and will be up for it.

Just taking a sideways glance at the talent on our bench should be enough to keep players on their toes and complacency at bay .

There is something exciting happening with our club and I'm sure all the players with be fighting to be a part of that 1st eleven .
Harry won't accept anything other than 100% and I think the players are seeing themselves just what reward that extra effort brings.
I think this is the first season that spurs have exeeded my expectations. !!

wish we would sign another holding player because if palacios gets injured and with the amounts of yellows he picks up(suspension) we would be screwed

to quote myself when he joined us and i heard it on sky sports news: 'we're saved.'

i was in utter shock that not just some, but quite a lot of spurs fans didn't think the same as me!
