I just caught a bit of call Collymore on Talksport and he was saying that Redknapp had been on earlier saying that Levy wanted him to spend money in January, but he's not bothered. Did anyone hear it and can they elaborate?

Redknapp was on talking about the game and Stan asked if he'd be in the market next month.

Harry said him and Levy have been talking and Levy has been encouraging him to buy if he feels there is people he wants. Harry said they will look to bring in one or two, but they have to be real top quality and won't pay over the odds.

Harry actually mentioned Dzeko but said he'd be nervous about spending £35m on him. He was asked about Scott Parker, he said most teams in the league would be interested in him, but doesn't think West Ham will sell him.

After the game my dad and me had this on in the car and from what I gather is that in a long interview with Harry afew days ago various questions were asked, one of which was regarding new players and the availability of funds and Harry replied with something along the lines of 'This is the first time Ive eer been told by the chairman he wants me to spending money and I can have what I need'...or something similar, as a result of this similar question have been asked again or its being translated in one way or another on various stations such as what Collymore was saying.

This isonly what ive heard second or third hand so cant confirm for definate though!!

Dzeko, Benzema, Suarez, Llorente, Gomez, Which one would you take the gamble on?

You are assuming that a) they'd want to sign for us and b) their clubs will sell them in the first place.

Have always liked the look of Llorente. Good target man, but less than a 1 in 3 striker though, not exactly prolific. Dunno enough about Dzeko, just that £35m thats being talked about seems a huge amount of money for a player who may or may not settle in England.

SSN - Man City in advanced talks with Edin Dzeko. Looks like this boat has sailed folks!

Dzeko - looks the all round player but £35m is a hell of a lot of money.
Benzema - can't see Madrid selling with the long term injury to Higuain and the fact he's starting to score a few.
Suarez - is he what we need? skillful but not a target man.
Llorente - perfect target man but he's basically the best player in a poor team (Bilbao). How many times have we seen a player stand out for his club then be crap when he moves to a better team. However, worth a punt if under £25m.
Gomez - Bayern won't sell as he can't stop scoring at the minute.

So, Dzeko and Llorente look like the only 2 being available. Subject to the fee, I'd fancy our chances of signing Dzeko as he'd be competing for 1 starting place with Tevez and Balotelli, were as he'd likely start for us.

Imo, he who is greater than all except Messi would find himself on the bench. How big a dent would that put in his ego?

Think they quoted a fee of £25million but I'm sure this is highly speculative. Think Gary Cook must've been listening to Harry on TalkSport!

I forgot to add Lucas Barrios to that list. Can I also add that although Sky are calling Dzeko in advanced talks with Cith, Doesn't mean he isn't in advanced talks with other clubs, just that Sky haven't picked up on it. He could be in talks with 4 or 5 clubs for all we know.

oh don't get me wrong I'm not saying it's a done deal, nor do I take SSN word as gospel but its a transfer that has been in the making since the summer so would be very surprised if he's at anyone else but City.

Remember guys, for every Joe Cole, there's a Rafael Van der Vaart!

The alternative is we stick with what we have, Which isn't bad anyway.

Forlan and Cordozo are 2 players that Harry has wanted.

Forlan is injured now, think he did his ankle ligaments in his last game so don't think that one is a goer for January. Not sure about Cordozo myself - does seem to have a good scoring record club-wise, but I can't believe he's the 'special' player Daniel Levy and Harry are looking but would be attainable.
