Id be happy to sign Elmander to sit on the bench. But we ahve a chance to win the league here. We should set our sights a little higher.

We don't need a replacement for Keane, with VdV as a second striker we have three strikers fighting for one position. That's plenty. If we are bringing in a truly world class striker then we should be looking to offload Pav or Crouch. But replacing our fourth striker who can't get a game with a better striker who will struggle to get a game, what's the point in that?

Elmander is a good player in great form. 20 starts, 9 goals and 4 assists is very good. But he is at his best when he is the focal point in a team, all his best games for Sweden has been when Zlatan has not been playing. Coming here to play the last 30 minutes when Defoe is hauled off is not a good idea. Pav, altough extremely frustrating, will probably do that job better. He is already a settled part of the team aswell.
