Ari gold spurs odyssey
Phil Neville will be a Spurs player before the end of the
window. Expect a loan or two in Everton's favour to
sweeten the deal.
Fee around £2.5million.
Don't take it with a pinch of salt, he's salty enough.

Over the course of the season we've had our top central defensive pairing from last season missing because of injury.

Now we have one of them back and someone to compensate for the loss of King we are getting back to the solid unit we were last season...I reckon that if we sign a striker we will finish above them.

We have yes, but the fact remains City have been better this season defensively.

Lets hope we can improve with players returning.

ITK?

Despite what most people think, he wouldnt be a bad signing.

Can cover both full back positions (imo is a better defender than Hutton) and midfield.

This could mean that it's bye-bye Corluka

To be honest I couldn't care less if we buy Neville but as long as we also get a striker and hopefully Diarra. Hmmm... Can't imagine 3 signings in 5 days though :-|

If we just sign Neville :bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang:

I agree mate - bring lots of grit and leadership too.

But one question on everybody's lips is a...striker.

Thats were the focus is and if that isn't addressed there is going to be a lot of dissappointed yids.

I heard Phil Neville would refuse to join Spurs or any other club as his child is disabled and uprouting the family from their home would be more problematic than it's worth.

I guess we'll see.

POTL i'm certain is referring to the imminent outs.We have 3 or 4 deals that could get finalised tomorrow for players leaving. There we all are expecitng these huge signings tomorrow or today etc and ut turns out its just Keane, Kranjcar and Ohara leaving. And phil neville as the only incoming! lolTypical spurs.

You may well be right but why in the good name of fuck would we need to "sweeten" the deal :bang:

If we sell Corluka then Modric will be off within 12-18 months imo.

This. Charlie is Luka's best mate, if we sold him we would not only be selling our best right back but unsettling Luka in the process

Agreed. I also think alot of people would 'accept' us signing Neville if it was alongside a big name striker. However if Neville was our only remaining signing this transfer window...

All this talk of Benzema is utterly pointless as far as I'm concerned. He was never going to come so it astounds me that some on here assume that he would.

Why?

1) Real have two fit strikers. Yes they've bought in Adebayor but Mourinho had to push and push and push the board for even the loan signing. Why the he'll would he then go and sell/loan half his strikeforce after battling his board so much.

2) He is only just getting a decent run of games for Madrid, pretty much for the first time since they signed him, why would he sacrifice that opportunity to play for another new club?

3) He is almost definitely on £100k+ a week, perhaps even £150k, and we all know Levy, rightfully so, won't shell that out. Ok, if it's a loan they may get it knocked down to £80k BUT Real are hardly in a healthy financial situation so why the he'll would they loan out their first choice striker and pay half his wages for the duration? Even City arn't that stupid.

Don't get me wrong, it will be great if it happens BUT it's just not going to. If you think about it logically, it makes absolutely no sense.

Cue the comments telling me to go fuck myself...

I'm as desparate for a new striker as the rest of us, but if Defoe or Pav go on their seasonal glut of goals and get a bit of confidence then with the games we have left and the amount of goals our midfield (vdV, Lennon and Bale) have been scoring there is no reason why 4th is out of our reach.

That would give us a great base to sign the top striker in the Summer when they are more likely to be available.

I still want a shiny new striker though and the faster it happens the better!!!
