End of season... Cue speculation.

This one has quotes though so may be believable.

I would probably sell Lennon if the price is right in the summer. I would like to see us switch to 433 with VDV playing the right forward. Use the money to buy Marin or Ashley Young.

wow another goal exclusive, are we really giving them time of day?

backed up by itk on coys forum.

Apparently goal.com are shit for most stories, but they have reliable contacts at spurs. Harry and Lennon have a very strained relationship by all accounts.

Offer him up to Villa for Young - i'd take that, not much difference in age, a little less speed and a lot more ability to cross/shoot. Also able to play on both wings and if we ever tried a 433 he'd be more able to play up top than Lennon. Backed up by Andros Townsend and i think thats a pretty good deal

Lennon to sit on our bench next season at the very least. No way we should get rid of him.

I swear after players being in poor form some people just forget how good they can/have previously been and claim they wouldn't mind if the player was sold... Has been the same with Bale and VDV recently.

An out-and-out right winger for a left sided player who cuts in?

We'd need a big system overall to bring back some width (i.e. 2 holding DMs and Bale and Hutton as overlapping fullbacks instead of BAE and Corluka).

But Lennon will never be more than he currently is. He was hot 3 or 4 years ago then went quiet, then had a good season, then has just had another poor season. How can you put up with a player who only plays well every other year? And when he plays well, he still isn't world class. For the record i'm still not convinced Bale has what it takes either but hoping i can be convinced otherwise. For me he doesn't have the intelligence of a forward which is why i'd still try and turn him into a fullback. Look at players like Nani, Valencia, Young etc all players who mix up their style, Bale tries the same thing time and time again - knock it past and run so teams just push him deep or double up and negate his threat. Europe is the only place he's really excelled this year. As for VDV, i think he's a great player but in a midfield i'm not convinced we have room for him. Modric is better and we need the likes of Sandro/Hudd/ to balance out modders and playing off a striker doesn't work when none of your strikers can play the lone role - hence our rubbish scoring record this year. IF we sign a striker able to play up top on his own and IF we brought in someone like Young who could add a goal threat from midfield then i'd keep VDV but otherwise cash in.

Just asked at my end and yes Harry has had run ins with Lennon and yes Harry doesn't particually like lennons attitude, but he's not entirely convinced that we have made him available. Probably more interesting is the fact that Aston villa either made an offer or came close to it in the past 12 months. Lennon - young swap?

I'd do the swap

Id rather we got rid of Redknapp to be perfectly honest. Why sell our best young players? Do people really think we'd find a better replacement.

I'd rather have three wingers and rotate, man up and sort it out.

Only if we buy Young. A technically superior player, better passer, better cross, better shot, more goals.

Probably a better attitude, and if Lennon got an injury that made him lose the blisteriing pace, he would be worthless.

horrible if true. Improved final ball and has had a fair share of assists considering he doesn't take set pieces. When comparing someone like young with Lennon remeber Young gets every single corner or free kick for villa. Throw enough shit at a wall and some is bound to stick.

I explained it in my post. VDV playing right foward, Marin or Young cutting in from the the left. Bale at LB.
