Are we seeking sponsorship from Saga or something ??

Rio, Distin, Beckham, Neville, Friedel to name but a few :/

Rio is too injury prone now, absolute no for me

injuries look to be catching up with Rio these past 2 seasons but he is without a doubt top quality and a leader on the pitch who will give players a bollocking if they need it

True when he is fit but that seems to be a rarity these days, 3 or 4 years ago would have snapped up Rio in a heartbeat but he would just be a very expensive addition to the treatment table now.

Harry isn't building a long-term project and doesn't care about our future. He just wants the players he thinks will make an immediate impact and that means experience.

Don't think he'd pass a medical with his dodgy back but it would be fun to watch him harangue the ref and get nowhere, him forgetting that we're Tottenham and not ManU!

The way some posters say this, it's like they blame him for realising that it is a results business and he will be judged on short-term results. I mean, look at the final third of the season: we didn't lose that many, just drew too much (yeah, against relegation threatened teams, I know), and taken with the context of the whole season, it's hardly the end of the World. And yet that is cause enough for some fans/SCers to want to lynch him.

If the Chairman wants a DOF for long-term building of club, that's fine with me...but you can hardly blamethe manager for wnating the players he believes will bring him immediate results.

I understand the case for 1 or 2 new experienced players - Parker and 1 other (Beckham ?) would do me but we already have 'leaders' in Gallas and Dawson etc and filling the team with old men will be counter productive.

If Levy is pushing for young talents and Harry wanting loads of OAP's I am in the Levy camp with this one.

if they make an immediate impact and guide us back to the CL does that not help us out moving forward into the future

we need someone on the pitch who does more than just lead by example we need someone who barks orders and lets players know when they're not doing good enough and need to step their game up

if we could get 30+ games out of him a season he'd be a huge player for us. Just look at Gallas this season we'll Ferdinand could have a similar impact.

That is the issue though, it would probably be nearer 3 than 30 and he is not getting any younger either.

His recent injury record makes him too big a risk.

why cant we just work on improving what we already have - bringing in Rio would mean the end for Kaboul as he would be behind rio king dawson gallas and be third choice right back - no way he would stay and nor could you blame him

In a years time we would then be searching around for a cb to replace rio and ledley - probably resign kaboul for twice the price we sell him for

so short sighted and fiancially stupid

hope we dont do it

Come on nic, you know it's true.

I don't believe the info, not because it's rebrab, I just don't see it happening.

As for Harry's transfer targets, you're so blinded by your dislike of the guy that you only see what you want. You write off any target that doesn't fit the agenda, and just focus on anything that does.

I'm fed up of your constant trolling of the same points everywhere. I specifically asked that this didn't become yet more Harry bashing, and yet as soon as I'd seen that you'd posted, I knew what you'd posted.

If you have to keep posting it, do it in a thread about Harry, but please stop dragging every thread into the same argument.
