I'd like to start off today's round-up by thanking 'Poster X' for the neg rep left for me regarding yesterday's round-up. And well deserved it was too

First up yesterday was Appy as Arry on COYS, who gave us the following:

There is a real uneasiness at the club with the Board and Harry not seeing eye to eye over a number of things, the board especially p***** off with Harry blowing hot and cold and trying to be the media darling. Apparently true about Lennon possibly on the way out, with the player not forgiving Harry re comments at the Madrid game. Bassong requested a transfer, and Woodgate almost certain to be allowed to go where he wants and not get a "pay as you play deal". The club are out looking for incoming and had three lists CL qualification (now gone) Europa (with a few hopefuls, but not very realistic) and non europe. Two strikers are top of the list, one experienced and one younger, Osvaldo, Gameiro, Lukaku and Falcao top that list at the moment. N'zogbia also on the list if Wigan go down and Parker almost certain to come in with Wilson going out.

Beckham is on the cards again and Samba and Jones are Cb targets although Jones is very unlikely with known interest from Liverpool. Although Nico is wanted by a couple of Italian clubs don't be suprised if he ends up at Fulham. Getting rid of the likes of Keane, Bentley and Gio are a real problem. Those wanting a big early signing may have to be patient and wait for the dust to settle the Club need to decide if Harry is going to be around next season and he and Levy can resolve their differences, expect some coaching staff to leave anyway.

Then Ryantegan, here on SC said:
Had a word today following up some 'ITK' that was posted earlier in the week. It was suggested that we were looking at a young Croatian, this intreaged me, so I got on the case.

What I got was not totally as I expected. We are looking at another Croatian to join the Crottenham clan, however he doesnt play in Croatia!

My boss had no names but said that he has been watched at international level as well. Im at a loss as to who it is.

The only name I could think of was Srna, but my boss said he doesnt think its him.

Any ideas?
Which resulted in the first of approximately 6,549 guessing games that will occur between now and the close of the TW.

Then Ryantegan may well have solved our striker problem when he said:
Sorry guys been out playing 6-aside at Southend. We won 12-2 by the way (I bagged a hatrick)
Sign him up!

Finally, BC tentatively took a half a step out of the closet
Been banging the Srna drum for years.
Eek

In other news Adele says she's been hurt by fat jokes about her and is going through a lot of pain.

Yeah, probably Pain au Chocolat.

Now then, you can either make a donation to SC today, right now, or we'll send nicdic around with his tambourine. And you don't want that do you?

Nice and early start today...

Who: Roger Morgan
When: 18/05/2011
Where: SO

We have made an enquiry. Has one year left on his Everton deal. Wanted as reliable cover. Cheap stop-gap. We also like Samba but Arsenal are in for him too and are more likely to pay asking price of around £10m.

Distin is perfect as CB cover. Gives us a stop gap to allow some of our younger CBs the chance to break into the team.

Still laughing at the Pain au Chocolate joke

Distin would be that sensible, reliable, completely uninspiring signing that Redknapp seems to love. All well and good, but when will there be a singing that has that wow-factor??

Samba seems like the flavour of the month to me. He does well in an Alladyce style physical ugly football style but our centre backs often get exposed (well maybe not now that we have Sandro) and you have to be an exceptional defender. He has been in English football long enough and just strikes me as a decent physical defender. I don't see him being anywhere near as good as he is being made out in recent weeks.

Oh and Distin...meh. Gallas, Dawson, Kaboul, Bassong, King (hopefully for a decent number of games) and Caulker should be more than enough unless we can get someone truly top class.

Redknapp still thinks he's managing Portsmouth :bang:

We've already got 3 players of Distin's profile, but who were actually top notch in their day

It's ITK, take a pinch of salt, chill out, and man up.

Or he would just take the spot of someone coming through. Bassong hasn't had much of a go this year and Caulker wouldn't get near to the side if we keep adding more reasonably good but not excellent defenders.

But we have 3 of those, and Dawson. And our younger CBs (Kaboul, Bassong and Khumalo) aren't exactly banging the door down.

If we buy a CB it's got to be an improvement on what we already have - a Subotic or Chiellini etc.
