goals aint everything though - he hasnt even made uniteds bench tonight even though he is their top scorer. a team is about how players fit together, not individuals and im not sure berbatov would suit our style at all tbh. would slow us down too much

Utd will not sell him to an English club. They are not as stupid as their feeder club.

I don't want him anywhere near our club again, hasn't even got the decency to watch with the other players

He was 30 back in January and doesn't rely on pace, I would be happy to give him a 3 year contract. Levy might have a problem justifying a transfer fee of £10 million plus for a guy his age though.

How long left on his contract?

We aren't that quick anymore. VDV has already slowed us down.

Would prefer a quick striker but VDV and Berbatov would at least be capable of exchanging passes

Would drive him down myself, he's a wonderful player and would complete us, he's only 30 and has never relied on physical attributes.

Not even watching from behind the bench... If we want him then I think it's very doable.

exactly my point. if you play vdv dropping deep then you need a quick striker with him. We have great pace out wide with Lennon and Bale and keep the ball well but we our strikers do not stretch teams and berbatov wouldnt either. We need a striker who is a constant goal threat and can hold up the ball - Berbatov can hold up the ball well but plays too far away from the goal to be considered a goal threat (awaits someone to say but hes scored X amount of goals)

dont want him, he made his bed, let him stay with a team that doesnt even trust him to be on the bench of the champions league final even though he's their top scorer

anyway as mentioned he's too slow to catch up with bale and lennon, need someone strong and fast to play infront of vdv

Agreed

We need a Drogba/Eto type as well as another quick striker so we can drop VDV for certain games

I feel for Berba. iirc that is the third time he has got to the CL final only to not be included in the team.

Unreal first touch, holds it up well, great finisher, good in the air, links play very well and weighs in with a load of assists too. Agree we need some pace too, but overall, Berbs is EXACTLY the type of forward we need IMO. The service we have from midfield now is 10 times better than it ever was when he was here.

If VdV and Crouch can link so well, Berbatov and VdV/A.N. Other could be unreal. I'm praying something develops from this (very harsh IMO) snubbing. First option clause perhaps?

All the pace in the world doesn't count when you're dealing with his kind of quality.

Do me a favour, the fella plays for the best team England, one of the best teams in Europe, yet can't even be bothered to support his team mates in a Champions League final - how do you suppose he's going to handle playing in the Europa league with us?

The way he sulked around last time, with the sole intention of engineering a transfer to United, stunk the place out.

If Levy has any sense (which, of course, he has) he won't touch this particular brooding, malevolent individual with a 20ft barge-pole.

Didn't even make the squad this time.

I know Owen is a big match winner but he must be absolutley gutted.

If its true that he left the stadium (likely), then Levy should be on the phone to him right now!

Imagine this:

Berbatov
Bale VDV Hulk
Sandro Modric
Ekotto Kaboul Dawson Walker
Gomes
