Sorry if this has already been posted, but POTL posted this earlier on COYS regarding the Lennon to Liverpool/Downing to Spurs rumour this morning....

I'm pretty sure POTL eariler said we were talking to Lennon over a possible new contract. I'll believe POTL's take on it over anything else.

Not to mention that selling Lennon would be incredibly stupid as well.

Probably because it wasn't a serious post. But knock yourself out with long winded retort like that. Just knowing a jest comment can wind you up so easily is good to know

Actually, it was two posts with not even the slightest hint of humour (FAIL there for you, my fiend, if that was your intention:wink:). I wasn't in the least wound up, you just seemed genuinely totally ignorant on the subject, and I kept a long and contentious subject as short as possible (sorry you thought it was long-winded).

It didn't take much 'knocking-out', I'm a historian, so something like that, off the top of my head takes a few minutes at best.

And, to refer back, you made it clear in your first post, with no reference to states within the US, that you had no awareness of Brittany as being in anyway differentiated from France - there was no hint of humour in it). But it is a totally seperate entity in tribal origin (the Bretons tracing their origins to Wales and Cornwall in the British Isles), in language (the Bretons speak a language akin to Welsh), and institutionally (the region being an autonomous political unit for many centuries). As you seemed to not not that, but were commenting on it, I thought I would (in a friendly way - sorry if you took it remiss) educate you on the matter.

I've been told that Liverpool will be offering a fee which with extra's can rise up to £30m for Lennon!

I have spoke to 3 seperate Arsenal fans recently who all want Defoe and are convinced in their team he would net 30 goals.

Its funny how you can have such a different opinion of a player when you watch them from a far.

Mmmmm Adebayor ?????

That could only be from a Liverpool source, and if so I'd like to know which one - the Scouse ITK's are seriously tight lipped since Dalglish took over. Even Elisha Scott is quiet.

spurs wont sell lennon, he has what everybody wants....frightening pace, frightening counter attack potential...

spurs wont sell him & quite frankly we would be stupid to even listen for offers..

ive said it before, if teams around & above us are wanting our players, then the ones they want are the ones we should strive to keep...simple

lennon wont be leaving, he will be signing an extension

IMO

for 30m they can have him. they would see it as value too, since he is at least 1.5 times as good as henderson.

that said, no way thats true.

30 mil for Lennon? I dont want to lose him but that is silly money.

Levy will no doubt be tempted.

Mmmmm Adebayor ?????

Mmm Adebayor what?

I have mentioned in other posts (most likely the Adebayor thread) that the Arsenal fans I spoke to have been laughing at the prospect of us signing him and saying that he is offside continiously and has little mroe than power and pace.

I raised the potential issue of us seeing him perform well against us and his goals in highlights and having a rose tinted view of his skills as a result.

Or of course the arsenal fans could have an agenda against him over the whole MAn City goal run from half way line incident.

I dunno, I have not watched enough of him personally to know whether I have the inacurrate from a far view or whether he is consistantly as good as he seems whenever I have seen him.

Time will tell I guess
