No that's what I mean, I was just trying to imply how ironic the reactions of some people on here are, considering how most of us have complained about the media blowing up previous Modric 'situations'.

sorry wasnt having a dig...get yer point!:oops:

From a personal viewpoint, I'm not blowing it up at all, don't think for a second it's true.

No one is. Sadly we are the story of the summer. Up north we were hoping that the Tevez story would run and run, but sadly it's not as big a deal partly cause most fans are resigned to him going.

We are media fodder at the minute. Let's hope it ends soon.

i do think that as a club we dont help ourselves though, Harry provides ammunition almost on a daily basis and the situation with 'M' was always going to be mama from heaven for the red tops

I still have no idea how Rossi plays up front with vdv.
We would have to play possession football to make it work best. I can't see it being too effective when we're pegged back and need an out ball. But the intelligence and movement up top would open a lot more gaps for us to exploit. It could help Bale and Lennon get into more promising positions.

It's not easy with 2 little men up top though, certainly not in England. The defenders are a lot more physical than in Spain and there's not as much technical football played in England either. I think the Gooners are about the only club in England who could get away with 2 little strikers.

I can only see it working for certain games, mostly at home. A quality number 9 is still required imo.
just been confirmed on the OS that Sandro is out for 3 months as well...:bang:
I can see a move for Diarra in the making very soon.

Yes but who does Harry 'write' for? And who owns them?

I've never liked it personally.

To be honest I can see Vucinic and Diarra being our two big incomings over the coming weeks.

I expect we might have a go for Adebayor late on in the window.....but I would be delighted with Vucinic and Diarra.

Add a couple of talented younsters for the future and thats a window I'm happy with.

I would say the move for Diarra is probably in full flow already....

We should try and manufacture some false ITK on van Persie wanting to force his way out for big bucks to Chelsea, or maybe some kind of massive scandal involving Rooney, Terry, Gerrard, a hotel room and some lube, and inject it into the media somehow. Create a diversion

I can see the Sandro news making us even more determined to retain Luka. Working on the assumption Sandro/Luka was our first choice, if Luka were to go, we'd start the season without either of our first choices, and considering the start to the season we have, we need to hit the ground running.

It'd be fucking orgasmic after suffering Crouch for and co. for two seasons but I worry about it enabling the opposition to play a high line against us.

Attractive as that may sound on paper it would cause us all kinds of problems off the ball as Berbatov is adverse to busting a gut for the cause and VdV is prone to wandering and I fear our shape would be compromised.

It would also lead to absolutely zero pace up front and teams would just push high up and squeeze the play.

Berbatov and Rossi though would be dynamite!

I don't think this would really be a problem, firstly I would welcome teams trying to play a higher line against us, it's the wankers that sit back and get ten men behind the ball that trouble us, and Berbatov is not that slow (VDV isn't a cart horse either). Also we have players like Bale, Lennon etc who would prevent teams playing a high line.

Could Diarra be the 'blue' part of B&Y?

Adebayor in the air, getting on the end of Bale's crosses. Man!

An attack of VDV, Adebayor and Vucinic; Bale and Lennon on the wings, Modric, Hudd, Sandro and Diarra providing opportunities too

We could still be in store for a great season guys

How about we actually sign some of them first?
