All this talk about how can we keep ade and vucinic happy is a little strange to me.

a) we have 38 league games
b) europa games + domestic cups
c) injuries
d) african nations cup (he can always go back to play for togo if they make it - i dont actually believe that he's fully retired from international despite what he says)
e) loss of form/rotation (yes i know harry is notoriously bad at this)

people worrying about VDV on the right, the reason why he was ineffective there was not because of his lack of ability, but rather he had donkeys to aim crosses and through balls to, whereas as support striker, he could make more of a direct impact unilaterally.

If we decide to play 442, we'd have sandro, hudd and modric for the middle. bale/modric/lennon/vdv (can cut in like modric 2 years ago) and lennon/vdv for the right with ade and vucinic up front. 451 speaks for itself. We can always change it up, put bale as left back.

If we're serious about challenging for third/honours, we need both for options and strength. If we get just Adebayor, because we worry about keeping both happy, what happens when he gets injured? Or if vucinic peters off towards the end because he's not used to playing through the winter.

WE NEED TWO NEW GOOD STRIKERS. Keep either Pav (good subs/number 2 stats) or Crouch (freak of nature can be awkward to defend against).

Loan with option to buy is the deal we want.

It makes a lot of sense that Harry and Levy would want Adebayor on a loan with option to buy (with us paying a portion of his wages). But wanting is very different than having.

I'm sure plenty of clubs would love to have Adebayor for a loan fee of a couple million and payment of half his wages, including Madrid. Why would City let us have him rather than giving the same deal to a club abroad?

I don't see why anyone thinks a loan to buy option would be best for Adebayor. Surely if he smashes it Man City will not sell him to us because we will become more of a threat to them.

Actually, I can't remember the last time a club accepted a bid for £35 million and had to sell for £23 million so he could go to a club he wants to go to

If there is a loan to buy option when he joins it doesn't matter what Man city think we can buy him for the original agreed price,

1) How long have you been standing? Are you allowed Sleep Breaks? Is the standing related to some kinda fan protest at the inception of all-seater stadia?

2) Clearly what hsa happened here is there has been some kinda typo that has sent Mr Jounralist off on the wrong track. Something like: "In regard to <M WORD> so far fan fury has been muted"...but, obviouly, missing the space between far and fan - it's the only logical explanation, surely:shrug:

I) A long time, my Season ticket is in the Park Lane:)
2) I am, as ever, in awe of your perceptive analysis SP

To be fair he did offer a long explanation of his situation, his source isn't Spurs based but has info from quite a number of clubs so at least it comes from a different perspective.
By the way I didn't mean to dis journalist in my earlier post I just saw his ITK as from that different perspective.

If he smashes it then there's every chance we could make the top 4, will suck if we couldnt then buy him but the reward is potentially so great that we would have other options next summer.

Imagine if he gets off to a flyer and City recall him ha

I don't think anyone can blame Barca for doing that. It is part and parcel of football now, you have to make use of everything you have, and one thing they most definately have is pull and sway when it comes to players themselves.
