See this is where we completely disagree.
No disrepect to Ryan at all but that's exactly the kind of cryptic that's pointless. It's guessed within an hour of being posted and served no real purpose.
As Bill, JJ and others have alluded to above, the reason some of The Goat's info is posted cryptically is so that the name doesn't get out and the club don't get wind of who's passing the information on to us. The majority of the names we've posted cryptically are players not linked to in the media and we only cryptic it when it'd be very obvious who the info is coming from.
We've taken on board the comments in here and will see if we can make any improvements to how it's done.

It's like saying: We're in talks with someone, I cant tell you who, but here's a little clue. Yes, it could be one of fifty players, but none of the ones you've guessed over the past two hours are correct. Evebn if you do guess the right name, I cant tell you. But keep guessing anyways, it's fun, right?

Thanks for that. I seem to remember some talk about our interest in him earlier last month - obviously we have gone back again. Could this mean that we have missed our prime targets and are moving down the list? His stats are not exactly electrifying.

No, I think he is and always has been a major target.
Palermo have offered him a new contract though. Currently he's only there til 2013 so wouldn't be TOO expensive.

Benzema would make sense as a target if the info supplied in January was correct. Why put in all that ground work to then just walk away?
Though you would imagine he would have more attractive options and higher payers than us if he were available.
I believe someone mentioned Abel Hernandez yesterday when guessing the German cryptic, though not sure how they came up with that.

Quick, skillful 6 footer with a powerful left foot. He can link and play on the shoulder. He's still raw which is no bad thing as with some time in the gym he could be moulded into what we need, i.e. a proper number 9

and lastly on the goats cryptic, there are now approx 40 names been guest, some tongue in cheek, some "deemed" good answers", some kind of ignored. and some TBH beyond my comprehension. So what has it really achieved?
here is another plausible one,
If you take that, the 1st part as looking for something - its lost...translate lost into to German, as the cryptic may suggest and you get Verloren
add the "i think they failed gsce German", the cryptic creator may have thought it was spelt, Ferloran in this you can find Forlan, which is someone later Rob alluded to later on.
I'll take the "clean" info
