I don't believe all the other itks have been fed wrong info

I think that's the key point. And we already know from Harry that Levy has been working on the deal for Adebayor. So, should we believe the Journalist when almost everything and everyone contradicts it? I'm skeptical. Perhaps his source is feeding him the monkeys.

why spend 25 mil on huntelaar when we could get vucinic or adebayor for that, even with ade's high wages there was a suggestion we could pay a lump sum to cover the difference

@journo....why the fasination with the bundesliga?????, cant think of anyone who's come here and done well??????????????

Absolutely.

It would be a staggering decision IMO, and I cant believe that some of these deals we are obviously working on are ruled out by somebody emphatically now ie Adebayor.

People complaining about the prices need to realise we believe this will be a massive window. People are worried about the new Uefa rule and subsequent rules that may follow. Even if teams find ways around them do you think Uefa will stop at that. Agents and others fear it could be the last time they will see such payouts, especially Agents.
I know you are loyal fans but I think many of your views are too blinkered. Yes; Harry Rednapp would like a lot of the players you have listed but he would also like Messi and Ronaldo.
He would probably want to pay £15million for Huntelaar or better yet £5million. Was Stuart Downing worth £20 million; was Jordan Henderson worth his fee?

As i stated earlier; another blogger i see had posted that Tottenham will spend £20million on 3 players and £35 on another. I don’t know about individual prices but I can see that.

If it was a case of paying over the odds or getting left behind what would you do?

This WILL definitely be the most inflated window yet. How much have Liverpool spent already? And the price you read about won’t have included the massive amount spent on agents .

Regarding me conflicting with what others have said; I gave the Afellay link before anyone else. If you ask the moderator about messages about Germany that I sent and WHEN.

I sort of got reprimanded for saying what i thought about the links with certain players from other posts and the moderator edited my follow up post. BUT time will tell, who is correct when we see who Tottenham sign.

£22million for Huntelaar?

Is this 2007?

We'd be mad spending that kind of money on him now IMO (or even signing him for that matter)

Cheers for the info anyway Journalist, though I do hope your sources are wrong (no offence)

But overpaying for Huntelaar? Why? There are better players who wouldn't cost as much, surely?

I hope you're wrong Journalist, as I'm sure many others do. But, you've certainly thrown some new names out there so will be really interesting to see what materialises. Thanks for passing on what you know.

Exactly. In amongst his patronising journalist seems to ignore the simple fact that kjh is a poor player who is barely a step up on what we already have

Cheers Journo.

I still firmly believe KJH could come good in the PL, and he's certainly an upgrade on what we've got now.

Mate with respect, you will always pay through the nose for British talent - particularly young British talent like Henderson (I dont rate him reallly)...KJH is 28 IIRC and hasn't had the best of seasons. Infact a fee of around 10-12 million would sound realistic.

Suarez is a 20 million pound player, as for the rest of Liverpool's acquistions they are young British talent, Carroll, Henderson etc..Adam and Downing being in their mid twenties...they were always going to pay big prices for those players.

I would be stunned if Levy paid 20 million plus Euros for KJH, I just cant fathom it - and it would totally go against the norm for the way Levy goes about his business.

Many thanks for the info, very interesting all the same.

You say that you mentioned affelay and the country of Germany (quite a broad area) before the media but plenty of other itk's mentioned vucinic and adebayor before the media. I don't see how that means anything, as most media speculation comes from forums like this.

Tottenham will NOT sign Berbatov, Rossi, Adebayor, Mata, Eto’o, Augero or Benzema.

Vucinic would be a complete change of direction because Tottenham, along with other clubs, have been and are scouting GERMANY. Like I said LAST Monday it is not even a starter in my opinion.

When asked about Marin; it’s not something I have heard but it would not be a surprise because of how strongly we feel about deals in Germany but my source did say after consulting him that any transfer involving Marin would be vulnerable for different reasons.

I did notice on one of you blogs that one of your posters had suggested that Tottenham are preparing to spend £20 million on three players and £35 million on another. I don’t know about the pricing but I WOULD NOT argue about the spend being upwards of £60 million on 4 players.

.

I think the first bit is thoroughly believable. We've been doing this for years on here. Getting excited, believing that we are likely to sign some of the best players in european football, in their prime for top dollar. When we have in fact never ever done this.

To be fair we have had Adebayor and recently Redknapp saying we have tried to bring him in on loan. And maybe one of the reason's we get our hopes up is that Levy is ambitious and does sniff around these players in the hope of picking up the off VDV type bargain. But Players bubbling under, slightly unpolished or flawed gems of the right age has always been our more fruitful hunting ground.

I think hunting in the German leagues makes sense. It's probably the most similar to the EPL in Europe and prices aren't as crazy as in some other leagues.

Could you explain to me what the problems are with doing a deal for Marin ?

Also, are you saying you have heard we have a kitty of circa 60m to blow ?

I don't care how far down the line Juve are with Vidal, if we are scouting and persuing interests in Germany and we don't sign him then we are fucking idiots.

Lol. Looks like we are trying to buy another washing machine.

So far we have sold little of the dead wood. Bought a 40 year old backup goalkeeper and 2 under 18s. Exciting stuff!

i am not sure on the Marin link. The first I heard about this link was when the Moderator asked me. I then contacted my source because this was the most viable thing I had heard. He said it sounded right but said that any deal with Marin would be vulnerable. Why? Because lots of teams have enquired but the general consensus is that Werder are likely to change there mind constantly and Marin would have a lot of adapting to do if he moved outside of Germany.

Sounds about right for this place

Love how everyone says how crap podolski is even though at only 26 he has over 80 caps and 40+ goals for Germany. Personally I think that isn't too bad

Stan, haven't you argued this for days...and every single poster points out to you that there is a huge difference between his International form, where he is phenomenal, and his league form, which is, at best, decidedly mediocre.
Was it you? And, if yes, why do you continue posting his International form like it is a revelational?

@ Journalist: As with anyone else, appreciate the info., and accept that you are posting in good faith. Unfortunately, you still haven't addressed certain issues. Namely, that Redknapp has said publicly that Levy is trying to do something with Rossi and Adebayor, and that the other ITKs are pretty unanimous in saying we are pretty close to agreeing a deal with Roma for Vucinic. I understand that you may have completely different sources...but how do you explain this:shrug:
