i am not sure on the Marin link. The first I heard about this link was when the Moderator asked me. I then contacted my source because this was the most viable thing I had heard. He said it sounded right but said that any deal with Marin would be vulnerable. Why? Because lots of teams have enquired but the general consensus is that Werder are likely to change there mind constantly and Marin would have a lot of adapting to do if he moved outside of Germany.

Thanks for your info! I hope we are Able
to convince the likes of Marin that we are a good option for them...

Stan, haven't you argued this for days...and every single poster points out to you that there is a huge difference between his International form, where he is phenomenal, and his league form, which is, at best, decidedly mediocre.
Was it you? And, if yes, why do you continue posting his International form like it is a revelational?

@ Journalist: As with anyone else, appreciate the info., and accept that you are posting in good faith. Unfortunately, you still haven't addressed certain issues. Namely, that Redknapp has said publicly that Levy is trying to do something with Rossi and Adebayor, and that the other ITKs are pretty unanimous in saying we are pretty close to agreeing a deal with Roma for Vucinic. I understand that you may have completely different sources...but how do you explain this:shrug:

@StartingPrice: Why have you started to believe anything that Redknapp says?

This is going to be interesting....

Journalist Vs Everyone else

I'm not coming down on either side, just saying it'll be fascinating to see how it all plays out :)

It's understandable though. A lot of the regular stuff comes from Arry opening his mouth to anyone he meets and other contacts within the club. The Journo's source is mainly external to the club.

Very easy to see how they're hearing different things.

I don't get you lot. 80% of you would have loved Huntelaar before he went to Madrid. He will work with VDV, we know this because...wait for it...he has already many times for Holland.

The bloke can use his head, and both feet and has experience in every major league in Europe and has always maintained a reasonable goal return. He's much harder to knock off the ball than Crouch, Pav and Defoe.

He's a far more realistic target for us than many of the ludicrous dream signings we keep bandying about.

How is this external source in possession of comprehensive details of our transfer strategy though? It doesn't seem to add up.

Think of the key personnel involved in most transfer transactions...

Just because all the other sources are saying deals are being done with Rossi and Adebayor doesn’t mean they are. From what I have read, you should already have signed 4 strikers as deals have been agreed. But where are they? Time will tell and I will not change the goalposts. I don’t know how well they have done previously.
Harry Rednapp has also said if I am right; that the Adebayor deal would only ever be a loan deal. And Man City have also stated that they are not prepared to loan him again. Which sort of deals with that anyway. I believe he is appeasing the fans while the real deals are being sorted. Rossi is a no goer.
I think many are believing what they want to believe and are being told what they want to hear. And i have not given times on when a player is going to sign for Tottenham. I would for Villa which is why I expect bids for 2/3 Tottenham players by wednesday.

But only time will who is correct.

I wouldn't be despondent at signing him, I just think we can't get him for a good fee, only an inflated fee; this is after previously Real and Madrid sold for reasonable prices because they wanted rid. Schalke aren't in that situation.

For that same fee I'd have hoped we could have pulled something more fearsome out of the bag. Put a bit extra into the bid and go for Llorente, for example.

That said, Vucinic + KJH would be lovely and give me hope for a challenging squad.
Then Leandro in January...?

maybe agents!

Its obvious anyway given the way the Journo talks a lot about making money this window and most agents seeing this as a big opportunity before new rules and regs come in...

No not agents. Close and to be fair their roles do sometimes overlap especially since agents have had more power.
