Even JD is getting cryptic.

Another day with new opportunities. God always has a plan. JD

From his twitter (can we post that in here?).

1. No you can't; and
2. It's not even his twitter feed I don't think.

All twitter bilge to the twitter hole please!

interesting to see the title odds this morning...usual suspects and then .....
Scum 7/1
Liverpool 10/1
Spurs 50/1

its amazing what a few mediocre signings for liverpool do for the perceived success of a team. Spend loads of money does not guarantee success...but the media think otherwise

I know where you are coming from and there has been discussions already about the methodology of bookmakers odds but personally, i'm glad that we are deemed firm outsiders as the pressure is completely off us - the bookmakers, nor the media alike fancy us to get Champions League football whereas now they are talking up Liverpool for a title tilt and trust me, that ain't going to happen but the pressure is on them regardless.

According again to BBC gossip we are in for Afellay for £4m and Alvaro Negredo from Seville for £18m.

I can't believe that Afellay is that cheap. Here's hoping:grin:

The best news I've read today is from the Sun (I know, but I'm willing to believe anything at the mo. I'M THAT DESPERATE!!!) We have put a £9m price on Crouchie's head.

Had to laugh when I see the link with negredo, I can just picture some little jobsworth down in the archives pulling out old names from past transfer windows.

Jobsworth: how's about negredo boss?
Boss: yep that's a good un
Jobsworth:robben? How about iaquinta and amuari?
Boss: ohhhh yes I like it
Jobsworth: ahhh how about rivaldo see he's still knocking about in brazil
Boss: hmmmm save that till aug 31st that'll get em going.

If your prediction is right that would for me be a Triffic Tuesday, especially if the player in question Stoke bid for is Crouch :hump:

Excuse me young lady, some people do :shake:

Morning

Now everyone says it when I don't say it

Morning Matty, could you stop mooning me, its to early for such things

Quiet day...... This has usually made 3-4 pages by now.

There has got to be movement soon. I've seen reports today saying Stoke fancy a couple of our lot. A couple out will lead to a chilled out levy and his credit card at the ready. How long do we leave it to make our moves before this happens though?

Interesting - while it is deathly quiet on here, I just got a "Server is too busy" error when f5ing (not short/a euphamism for anything by the way!).

I wonder if the 2 things are connected...

I think this snippet from the BBC transfer rumours page shows what we're up against in terms of offloading players...

So before we can even sell our 'deadwood' we have to wait for Villa to sell such titanic players as Habib Beye? Gah!

IF we need a CB back up then including Cuellar in the deal might speed it along

Our odds will be 10/1 when we sell Crouch.

any firm ITK on who the 3 bids were for?

1) Vucinic
2)
3)

Gotta say that I'd have really liked us to go in for N'Zogbia and attempt to rotate him with Bale and Lennon. He can arguably play well of either flank and scores goals.

Plus compared to say Henderson and Downing's prices, 9.5 million is a bargain for a proven prem player.

Beyond that, Afellay and Negredo would be excellent signings as well, here's hoping.
