Surely we'd want more than £10M for Defoe? He had a bad season last year, but he's still a Premiership proven English striker. I'm sure there's plenty of prem. teams that would still love to see him in their team.

Agreed. Still under 30 as well so worth much more that £10M IMO. Its just that other clubs know we need to sell if we are to bring in a top striker, so to them this is a realistic offer.

So yet another day F5ing through the Slough of Despond.

I see that Utd are now linked to Vucinic and we are linked to Llorente (no chance) and Guerroro (who he? although it may tie up with what the Journalist reported about us scouting in Germany and support those who think that POTL misspelling of guarantee was somehow cryptic).

Why no chance? Llorente is probably one of the only realistic targets that have been spouted on here.

Erm Hi people :)

So it will either be a wonderful Wednesday or a woeful one

If Stoke or QPR kick things of with a bid for Crouch that would definitely be a wonderful start.

Good day. Spurs. Transfer.
When was the lasttime we had one of them? VDV? That was a good night, as it was so late in the day. And wasnt really what we were looking for.

If Diarra is done then announce it. If Leandro is done then announce it. Neither are done IMHO.
I want to be optimistic, I want to believe. But for some reason, despite having a ridiculously creative midfield, no big name striker wants to come and play for us and put away some of the hundreds of goal scoring opportunities we will create next season, in the process making themselves an absolute legend.

Someone will do it. Someone will come. And they will go down in football folklore, having sailed past Clive Allens 49 goals in a season record :)

Audre Est Facre

Of course they're not done :)

I want to be optimistic also but I think the best we can hope for today is some news of maybe Hutton/Palacios/Keane leaving IMO.

Anyone who thinks we could get any more than 10million for defoe is a bit delusional. He has been off form for some time now and he isn't getting any younger

Interesting I think he was quoted yesterday as saying he didn't want to move and Valencia said he's not for sale?

Why no chance? Llorente is probably one of the only realistic targets that have been spouted on here.

Partly because in January he was odds on to join Real Madrid. As with Rossi and Barca, it is a bit of a come down for them to come to us on half the wages. Wouldn't be surprised to see him joining Atletico Madrid, especially if they sell Aguero and Forlan.

And partly because I've got a cold and feel really depressed about the chances of us signing any striker.

How long before we hear Harry giving an interview saying that all our current strikers are triffic and we weren't really looking to sign anyone?

BTW Forlan is probably our most realistic target.

Maybe Mata likes the Europa League, less money and playing with Peter Crouch.

I think we're in with a chance here.

Morning All,

Another day of riding the transfer train no doubt, stopping at delusion, elation, misery, depression and ultimately suicidal tendencies. I'm not a religious man but these are testing times indeed, not quite sandwich board time quoting the end is nigh but i'd take a transfer, any transfer at this point :bang:

Personally, i think we're the 3rd club supposed to have met aguero's release clause but city's trillions make that point irrelevant. I still believe rossi is coming at the end of the window and that we're in with a huge shout on mata. Vucinic by all accounts is close, just a bit of haggling over the details to be done and the rabbit out of the hat must be llorente, so not all doom and gloom.

Patience is a virtue remember........ahway, off to the drugs cabinet....:hump:

I think we are in with a chance because Arsenal have a strict wage structure like us. But, they've not qualified for the champions league proper yet either.

I think we are in with a shout. All we need to do is show we care more. Offer him a good deal and guarantee him a starting spot etc.

If anyone can, Levy can.
