No chance of Llorente for under 30 mill, 30 mill would be cheap, i expect the price they have in mind is 40 mill euros.

It's no secret about Birmingham. When the Chinese guy bought them they were allegedly in £90m of debt, he then got done for money laundering in Hong Kong.
That's part of the reason they hate the Gulllivans.

Who wouldn't take a stroll down WHL and not fall in love? The kebab shops, borded up buildings - it's what dreams are made of. I hope we hire very blacked out windowed cars when we pick up potential signings from the airport and only open windows when on a tour of the city!

I would love Llorente - but at £25-£30 Million? Just to put things into perspective I have copied below a post that Sloth made in "Chat" yesterday. I can't vouch for the accuracy of the stats but am sure that Sloth will have done his homework. It makes interesting reading - apologies in advance to Mods if this is construed as spam but it is relevent to some of the striking options we have under consideration.

Boy, all those stats do is show how crap Harry is at reading ProZone and selecting his team. Seriously, how did Defoe & Crouch get more game time than Pav? :bang:

Llorente would be worth 40m. Exactly the player we need.

Personally, what with City, Arsenal and Liverpool strengthening their teams (Aguero and Mata would be superb signings and Gervinho looks pretty good) I have the opinion that there is no way in hell we're going to get top four next year unless we sign someone like Llorente NOW.

Without being the bringer of doom, it just won't happen. Should get used to the Europa League, as we're not getting back into the CL anytime soon without some big money being used to bring in top players.

Im not sure but i think Llorente has a 35m buyout clause. I personally think the hardest part would be convincing the player to leave Spain and come to England.
For the same price, who would you sign, llorente or rossi? Rossi for me.
Maybe if we signed either it could help mata to decide to come to us instead of Arsenal where their best players are probably leaving including Fabregas.

I don't think buy-out clauses work outside of Spain, could be wrong though.

And I don't think it'd be that difficult to persuade him.

All has gone quite now, but it seems Harry was looking at him as a VDV replacement (when vdv is injured or knackered). I thought he was more of a left midfielder ala bale?

Aguero is a lot better than Tevez, who pretty much makes every other player in that team ineffective.

Tevez makes team mates ineffective? WTF?! Seriously dude, he makes City tick. Not even Silva has the same team impact as Tevez.

Aguero is a great player but he isn't the tyeam player Tevez is.

Mata would be quality, as would llorente. Yes please Daniel.

On the ITK front. I dont understand how, when a cryptic is posted, everyone spends days trying to crack it, if there is something genuinely there to crack in the first place. And there are no real come backs to the poster as there is no real solid info.
Lots of people complain about this type of info, even though its quite fun to guess (if a little strenuous on the server).

Then you have someone like the journo come along and put it all out there, all his info in plain english, everything (relevant) hes heard, and now half of the people are waiting with baited breath to shoot his info down if things comeout slightly differently...

Make your fackin' minds up lads! Clear info or loose cryptics?

I just don't agree at all, playing Tevez does cause City a lot of problems in my opinion. I think they will be a far better team without him, as it will allow Silva, Dzeko and a few others to blossom.

I thought the fact that he posted it would imply it was his opinion in the first place.

I love this man but is he really any good? From what I have seen he flatters to deceive with no end product.

 He scored the 1st wonder goal in the SA WC. That flying break away goal and leaping shot. Awesome! He did squat afterwards. He's not Prem quality. Commentators creamed over him cos his dreds made him easy to pick out and 1 moment of skill.

As a replacement for VdV he'd fall way short; Kranky would be way better than him in that position.
