Unfortunately I can't picture a situation in which Mata would choose us over Arsenal but it's a wonderful thought.

Arsenal have probably got a better reputation than we have, but on the pitch and if Fabregas leaves i think we have a much better than them and with Mata in the team and a forward i can only see City and Utd superior to us comparing squads.

Thanks again! Yeah my Diarra bit came from player side, so if they're hearing it, it must be pretty much there? And I know the link has been there a while.

Confused about Crouchy, but then again, he'd be closer to the missus' parents and I know thats what she wants to do.

Jenas - Can I see him going? Dont know, I know he's very settled in North London.

Hutton - Done as far as I know, as I put here Sunday, he said goodbye to a few during the trip home from SA - Don't know if he's been training this week with the team, thought he'd be talking terms today?

I think we're the whole press' source of info!

Good point, he did!

In fact it was ITK to knock the socks off all the other ITK we've had so far (or something just as bold as that!)

Now, where is the little scamp?!

I'm going to presume that his info may not be with us until later this evening if he's meeting him for a drink.

Either way, definately something to look forward to..........hopefully

And I agree too...

However, we could also look at it that being sensible and signing the RIGHT players and therefore getting towards the top of the EPL is a better sign of intent to Modric than splashing the cash on some fancy dan.

So whilst I think we will need to pay big, I don't think it's just about that with Modric. He wants success, not a team full of expensive mercenaries.

R.

Very true.

However, I think both Modric and us fans alike would be much more excitied about our chances next season were we to pull off a deal for a Llorente/Rossi calibre of player.

This site would implode. Even more so than when we signed Van Der Vaart on dealine day, as a shiny new striker has been over a year and a half in coming!

Steve Kean says he is close to 3 signings... Please be Keane... would it be too much to offer them Jenas aswell?

I know for sure that keano has been mulling over a move to Blackburn. I'd imagine we would iron out the details with them as soon as he gives us the nod

totally agree on all that and wud be fantastic window. i wud love to add mata to that but that just been greedy! i agree with alot of stuff on here u write haha
center half, winger, central midfield player, striker x 2!

Cheers

Good minds and all that? Or are we both as clueless as each other :duh:

There is a lot of work to be done if we are to shift somewhere between 6-10 players and bring in 3-5. Hopefully we are well down the road with most of it.

I am so glad there is a transfer window. Imagine this crap dragging on all season? I cant remember what it was like in the good old days where you bought a player as and when you needed them as opposed to building a squad for the season ahead. Must have been so bloody boring. Stress free, but boring.

Do you think that means we can sell him to the goons as A replacement for Fabregash? :)

Don't take anything that guy says seriously. He recently said they would be in the CL within 3 years.

Update:
Sky Sports sources understand Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe would turn down a move to Newcastle if given the option.
Plus that cryptic form the goat was way too hard. If there all like like we have no chance of getting them!

I see some questioning my info on n’zogbia.

Forget what skysportsnews and The Independent and few other papers are saying about N’zogbia medical. Skysports saying Friday; independent saying Thursday. They are both wrong; N’Zogbia full medical today. The deal might not be completed until Friday when papers are sent but full medical will be done today. Independent also say it’s at Bodymoor; he might be shown around there but BMI Medical centre is booked. I have phones next to me hoping to get information about the Tottenham 3; but as it stands the bid went in and talking to players. Confuses me why they are more confident on Crouch than Jenas.

Nothing new to add from Yesterday. But phones are on.

Also I see another member confirmed my Diarra information yesterday from earlier in the day. It makes a change not to be contradicting them all the time.

And now the Mirror are picking up of my Afellay, link as well. Ironically he is in Germany at the minute. Also on the board yesterday I talked of the money troubles at Birmingham City and the Mirror are reporting that now this morning too. IS this site their main source of information?

Only for a few years... :)

It's pretty frightening how much from here goes into the national press within a day or two. Sure beats working for a living as far as your namesakes go.

Gutted to miss out on Cazorla. Lovely player.

Yup, shame. Malaga are rolling in it, though. Bet he's on a fortune now. Not sure we could have competed.

He must've had a long time to think about it! I think the first update I posted in this window was about Pardew wanting JD
