Deja vu of January 2009, how exactly has spending £15mil on Defoe and £12mil on Keane turned out ?

Or worse still July 2009 when we paid £15mil for Bentley, that was certainly over the odds.

If we havent got money for fees and wages, what was all that all about in january throwing bids for 30m here and there for rossi, llorente, aguero, etc. Either it was all a load of crap or we really have to sign someone similar this summer.

I think the later we leave it, the worst. Villareal wont sell late as they wouldnt have time to buy a replacement and most teams the same.

We must show our ambition now and do this. For ffs i really understand Luka's worries now. He only wanted us to show our ambition, which at the moment is none.

Maybe a flukish hattrick against Everton will gain back confidence by Defoe and he goes on a tear scoring 10 in the next 6 games.

Levy can save 20 million to add to the next window.
