Peanuts info is always very accurate, but the salt is still needed with his posts because he seems to have a pro Levy\anti Harry agenda at times.

I wouldn't say that's an unfair summing up of Peanut's record, but the key thing is that he is just about always infallibly accurate in his information. I don't really care whether he thinks Harry or Levy is more to blame for the seeming difficulties we are having in recruiting a new striker, what worries me is the fact that we are having those difficulties, regardless of who Peanut feels is at fault.

To be honest, as one other poster said above, when an ITK like Peanut uses the word "desperation" then you know it's time to feel a bit jittery.

I trust Peanut, one of the best ITK in my mind no doubt.

This is what I've suspected for over a week now...we obviously made progress and then back tracked and I totally suspected that was because of Harry not being confident enough over Vucinic...I seriously think Harry struggles to judge foreign players...

I dont mean that as criticism but I guess its just my frustration coming through...again a lack of decisiveness could well cost us.

I seriously think he struggles to judge ANY player......... all he does' is phone one of his football contacts to see what they think.

Phoned Gullit to check if VDV would be good enough for us.
Phoned Dunga to check if he thought Sandro would make a good player.
Phoned Frank Lampard to check if he thought Palacios was a good enough midfielder.
Phoned someone who was at Newcastle about Bassong.

He must have phoned Stevie Wonder about Suarez!

I agree but the fans will also turn on Levy big-time and ENIC will be left with no choice other than to put up or sell up!

Maybe. I think we as fans have to realise that things are out of our control to a certain extent.

Who could have forecast Man City winning the lottery as the have and buying anything that moved?

But for that I'd fancy us to take on the top 4 and be in with a shout, even with our current strikeforce. But now we're playing catch up. We're watching the lottery winners spunk their cash all over town (all over Europe, actually) and we look on thinking "fuck, we're gonna get left behind! we've gotta do something!"

So now we're caught between the devil and the deep blue sea. Do we go up the ante and go "All In" or do we hang fire and see how the chips fall?

I think we'll hold on, do nothing stupid, and we'll finish 6th. I'll be disappointed, but it's nothing I haven't felt a billion times over the past 20 years. So what's new?!

Peanut's desperation doesn't fit with PoTL's optimism.

This is all getting pretty grim tbh.

With Rossi staying, Vucinic 'apparently' heading to Juventus, Adebayor being a no-go...

Who the hell are our 'realistic' targets?

If we mortgage the Club's very existence in order to obtain CL qualification opportunity, I'd rather we didn't and went for Europe via Europa and build the club brick by brick.

This line of excuses is getting tiresome.

No one's saying we have to go out and sign 5 Aguero's. The people in charge of our transfer activity are nothing short of imcompetent...that's the real problem.

Take your pick from Carlton Cole, Kenwyne Jones, Benjani or Odemwengie.

No doubt they will all want 'massive' wages too........

Bring back Iversen and Armstrong

Which is a sound perspective and not one that I necessarily disagree with, but if this is the pragmatic approach we take then the fans need to understand this and not get upset when our best players wish to leave which is frustrating because this is the best side I`ve seen at Spurs for 30 years and despite what people think of Harry, his dealings and his media soundbites some credit must go to him for that.

Mr. Pink I understand your viewpoint, but Harry is not the issue, just look at his signings for poorer clubs than ours. Our transfer policy has been a shambles for far too long when HR wasn't even here.

IMO, PoTL is a Spurs employee who directly feeds the messageboards with information that the club have decided to sanction for 'unofficial' release. When it comes to loaning young players, new contract announcements etc he's always spot on, but I always get the feeling with his posts that there is a noticeable dollop of unofficial club 'propaganda'/party line stuff in there as well that needs to be taken with a pinch of salt.

Peanut, on the other hand, evidently has a source at the very highest levels of the board but doesn't dish out his information in a 'covertly club-sanctioned' way. He often comes across as pretty pessimistic about the information he has, but as he's not releasing the info at anyone's behest but his own then the factual information he shares is far more enlightening as to what's really happening at the club than POTL's is, for me.

Just my tuppence.
