Shanks is one poster who isn't going to fuck us about. SC furniture that man is. 12 foot of SC legend.

Oh, and even if the info doesn't come to fruition, cheers for it :-D I would slit the throats of 200 goats in sacrifice to the Powerpuff Girls if it meant that we signed Llorrente.

thank you shanks. if this is true then all the heartache of this window so far has been worth it. llorente would tear up the epl. i still reckon we're getting rossi too at the end of the window. with those 2 up front we'd be going for the title.

Crouch
Club record - 143 goals in 456 appearances = A goal every 3.1 games
International - 22 goals in 44 appearances = A goal every 1.9 games

Llorente
Club record - 99 goals in 289 appearances = A goal every 2.9 games
International - 7 goals in 13 appearances = A goal every 1.85 games

Not very different in terms of conversion rates. Crouch 4 years older. Not sure of Llorente's assists but doubt it's much higher than Crouch's.

Statistics can be very misleading.

For example, people have said we crave a target man to hold the ball up.

Llorente is such a player but if Dawson punted it to Llorente, who held it up and then laid it off the VDV who plays in Bale to score, Llorente would not be creditted with the assist but he would have been instrumental in the goal.

not impressed with Samba the man with the turning circle wider than the moon (around the earth ) and whose legs were built for someone much smaller.

But i'll be there to impress llorente on Sat (i'm thinking of breakng out the helicopter dick...)

Also Crouch to anywhere is good news IMO.

also in one of friendlies you can do what you want, as long as pre agreed.

FIFA have no say. maybe as Arsenal's game was a "tournament" it was different.

What sort of fee are we talking about for Llorente? 25-30 ish....?

Hopefully we'll get 7-9 million for Crouchy or so, and with Keane, Hutton, GDS and Palacios likely to follow we could cover it and have a little left over to put towards Diarra

You're looking at entire career stats. That means you're using stats from very young career during breakthrough seasons. Look at recent history and you realise how awesome Llorente has been:

Season Apps Goals
2007–08 35 11
2008–09 34 14
2009–10 37 14
2010–11 38 18

Top scorer in a team purely of Basque players for the past 4 seasons, you might want to check him out a bit. I do hope there's something in this.

As they say "There's lies, damn lies, and statistics." That said, in his last 3 seasons, Llorente has 46 goals in 109 league games. That's a goal per 2.37 games. In his last 4, which is when he's been a regular, his goals have improved: 11, 14, 14, 18. How's Crouchie's goals/season trajectory?

I would think that IF we convince Llorente to come and IF we agree a fee with Bilbao, which i very much doubt, the price would be 30-35 ish.

Llorente (right, with number 16, marked by Peter Crouch) moments before his first goal for the Spanish national team.

Not saying Llorente ain't good, just looking at some figures, fair points from all of you. I'll be as happy as anyone if we sign him.

Shanks: That info was all making me happy till your source said we were trying for some chap called vucinic :)
