anyone that wants to argue Crouch's case v Llorente should be sectioned, Llorente is a Top notch and would score for fun in our team, as much as I respect Crouch for what he's done for us and the effort he's put in I must be honest and say that im excited by the prospect of him joining Sunderland if it leads to us getting the ball down and passing out of defense more with him not on the field

That would be as good as us getting a new striker in!!

I would absolutely love us to sign Llorente, brilliant player.
Is it coincidence we just happen to have a friendly against Bilbao or could it be possible that a deal was agreed in principle and this was the date decided to finalise everything?

could Llorente be the blue POTL is referring to? his eyes are extremely blue !

Cant see Bilbao loaning him!

How many times does it have to be repeated for some people to wake up to the reality: We Will Not Sign Fernando Llorente!

We did not pay Roma their quote for Vucinic, yet we are ready to shell out 2-3 times as much on Llorente, who isn't even for sale? Please, stop deluding yourselves.

Again, Bilbao has no use for Daniel Levy's money because they cannot directly reinvest it in their first team. Their new president will not sell one of the greatest players in their club's history for whatever (likely) low-ball offer we present. Furthermore, if they did make him available, numerous other teams of greater stature than us would offer the same transfer fee and offer him triple the wages.

It's a pipe dream, even more so than signing Kun Aguero.

We had two legitimate chances to sign quality strikers tagged semi-reasonable fees given the market rate: Luis Suarez in January and Mirko Vucinic in June. We lost out on both. Now, we will simply have to deal with going through the league with what we have, or a marginal upgrade like Odemwingie. The only question remaining is, what incentive do Bale, Modric, and Van der Vaart have to stay in 2012-2013 when we likely don't offer Champions League Football, nor the wages that their future suitors will present. Will Levy block moves for all of them, like he did for Modric this summer?

Shanks info is interesting but his last piece of itk was so awful that Im not sure I just cant trust it. He claimed a while back (few ago) that Forlan was at the lodge having a medical Eek Quite clearly that didnt happen!

Firstly, my apologies, as I briefly edited my above post to add Odemwingie's name again! I know you don't like to see that, but I think he's a very realistic buy late in the window who can help us preserve a top 6 spot.

As for the rest of my post, Istated my opinion, much like when I said repeatedly that Vucinic would sign with Juventus according to all available and relevant evidence. I believe you had a hard time believing that too.

It's a shame it's already 31st August. Oh. Yeah.
