Dont believe the Diarra price.
I was the first to break the Diarra link before any one. http://www.spurscommunity.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=76510
I also told that the price would be around £10-12million plus add-ons.
Madrid NEVER paid the reported press price so wont be taking a hit. I can say that with 100% guarantee.

Wages never a problem with Diarra. I said yesterday its waiting to be finalised your end. when whatever Tottenham are waiting for Diarra will be signed.

Thank you Mr Journo...........always appreciated

Please god:pray:

I was so positive about everything yesterday but today I feel less so... Can anyone remember a time when Dragon, Peanut, Archie and POTL were all saying different things?

Summer usually. And januaries as well. Going back about five years, I'd say.

Pretty sure you weren't.

Cheers for posting though. Sounds promising.

Hmm sounds good to me... sometimes these things can just take time and either party can have good reasons to delay a transfer. Clubs becuase they might be after better targets or needing to shift players on first and players equally can have their reasons.

Sometimes its perfectly reasonable and as frustrating as it is for supporters you have to remember these are people's money and lives and they want to take their time to ensure they're making the best decision for them.

It was said earlier on that they no longer see us as a threat.

Why would they? They are challenging for the title this year.

Says who? I live in Manchester for the most part and trust me they see us as a threat. They certainly don't want to give us a player and give us money for the privelege.

Jenas will always be an enigma of a player but he does serve an important purpose as a squad player and you don't succesfully embark on a long ardous season without these players at your disposal.

Playing wise, Barton is an upgrade on Jenas but with all the baggage that inevitably follows, plus the valid point of being on considerably more would he really be worth all the bother - i'm not sure, but if the right deal was struck for the club then I would actually be in favour.

Didn't Rebrab say that Barton would cost less than Jenas? Or am I making that uP?

You know what I think Dan is doing?

Almost finalising a deal for Diarra, then right at the last second say no actually we can only pay (a smaller fee). RM then have to either accept that bid or have him rotting on the bench (or not even that if he's not in the squad)

Would he really muck RM about like that when we've got a good thing going with them?

Maybe Palacios and Crouch will end up at Stoke!

It seems to be gatehring pace in the press, so who knows.

To be fair if we sign the right two or three players we could challenge for the title as well.

Said one of the trusted ITK's I'm sure.

That they are even picking up the phone suggest it.

Last year they sent a player earning tons of wedge to play in the second division because they didn't want him joining us. Now we are in discussions... doesn't suggest they view us in the same light, unless they're just taking the mickey for a little bit.

I'm fine with Jenas staying. But I would also be fine with letting his current contract run down and give his slot to one of the kids next year. I guess I'd like to know how long the extension would be. 2 years, maybe. 4 years, no.

We could I agree, but three players won't be enough given our injury record. As usual we will lose key players to lengthy injuries which will cost us several points, whilst Man U, Chelsea and City will retain all of their best players and continue to grind out undeserved results.

Perhaps some new physios and medical staff could be as important as a new shiny striker. Any ITK on that?

Well if Jenas looks like staying and Diarra looks like coming Palacios must be going - has to be.

I think that is the hold up personally.

Diarra is in for all intents and purposes, pen hovering above the dotted line

Spurs are trying to flog Palacios - but buying team are aware of Diarra and stalling. Once Diarra signs then they can negotiate the price down as Spurs would HAVE to sell Wilson. At the moment Palacios is "an integral part of the first team squad, therefore £XXm is a fair price". should Diarra sign, suddenly its " No Spurs, Palacios now seems to be surplus to requirements, therefore us buying him is doing you a favour. £Xm is a fair price"

Who blinks first? Diarra is a good player, paying £10m - £12m is a good deal. Should we take a massive hit on Wilson though, say lose £4m on what we paid not to long ago, Diarra suddenly becomes £14-£16m...is that a good deal? Is he that much better that Wilson? A tricky sitch, make no mistake.

Not really Spurs related, although we had been linked previously to Lukaku by some ITK info, he had signed a precontract or something. According to reports in Belgian press he has signed a 5 year contract at Chelsea. So another striker gone there.
Although I never thought this one would happen in the first place.
