So no Llorente, no Adebarndoor who do we turn our attentions to now? Do we bite the bullet and sign a more realistic target such as a Rodallega, or push for Nilmar and risk getting so far then for wages to scupper the deal and be left with the same shower up front as last season?

Has there been any more ITK regarding Osvaldo? Think he would attainable and be class up front for us

I have to admit that I was disappointed when the Osvaldo links all dried up, I reckon he would fit in very nicely indeed.

Cos numerous itk's have said he is willing to take a pay cut and City are willing to subsidise a portion of the wages.

also there was previously itk that said City no longer regarded us as direct competition. It was that very itk that reinforced in my head that we were never gonna get Ade.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if we did end up with Rodallega. If we come up short with our big name targets, we should try for him at the 11th hour. He might not be a world beater but he'd improve us, and give us an extra dimension. We wouldn't be putting in a title challenge, but we'd be in with a good shout at winning something.

Levy likes to play his cards very close to his chest - so no news is not necessarily bad news.

There was also ITK that said Citeh very much do regard us as a threat (I think they would be mental not to, but really hope they don't as arrogance may well be their undoing).

Mancini on SSN still saying he wants Tevez to stay - cant see it myself but if he does then a squad strike force of Tevez Ageuro Dzeko Balotelli Adebayor seems unlikely - must strenghten our hand at getting Adebayor with subsidies

Rossi did last year. What fucking difference did it make?!?

Didn't Harry say that at that time we could have signed him for £18m (he may have even come as we had CL football to offer) and baulked at the price. :bang:

I'd be more happy with Odemwingie if there's nothing better left and we are forced to look at this level of players... Wigan got nearly relegated by the amount of Rodallega's missed chances. He puts lots of effort in his game, but sadly he's hardly prolific...

Still there's some time left till the end of the window, so we can still dream of some bigger signings, so..... one Llorente please! :)

I don't think it's anything to do with whether City see us as rivals but they want and with squad rules need to get rid.
I still think it would be difficult to do and I'm not convinced by him, if he got his head right he'd be an improvement but at what price?

The whole 'if we pay this player this much, then we have to pay that player the same' argument is an odd one. In my work I don't go around telling people how much I earn, why would a footballer? Couldn't we theoretically pay Adebayor £120k a week and instruct him to keep it to himself? Not saying we should, just a thought.

To my knowledge most footballers know how much others earn and get really competitive about it. I hear its one of the main things they talk about on international duty.

Yea, there's that story of Sneijder picking on the some dutch keeper about how he made ten times what he did.

People have contracts saying they have to be the top or joint top player sat a club.

is there anyone of our target where wages are not an issue?
I would guess the next level down from our top targets. I think our biggest problem is that we're chasing world class talent, which is only going to cause problems on wages. It doesn't mean we can't get someone though. I'm not sure anyone expected VDV to agree to our wage structure for example.

I have no idea what Llorente is on though. But wages in Spain are going to make it hard to get someone from there. I'm surprised we've spent so much time looking for a striker in Spain tbh. Not to mention a Man City striker now too.

We're doing things the hard way, the Tottenham way.

Reminds me of when I saw bellamy in a club on cardiff after another Welsh defeat having a set to with a group of lads about how he earned more in a week than all of them put together did in a year. Class act is bellars
