Certainly seems clear from the info i got over the weekend and the ITK since that we will all be a bit frustrated througout the window regarding a possible new striker.

But when you take a step back and realise that we are now trying to negotiate with some real top top players then it shows how far we have come
as a club over the past few years. I know some of you are that desperate we could sign some random unknown from abroad and you would all be over the moon, but you have to realise because of how far we have come, we can only buy players that are better than what we have and in order to do that we have to step up a notch, deal in bigger wages, transfer fees etc and this takes a lot of time. I personally think that Adebayor could end up at Spurs in the final moments of the window, when RM close the door and Man City realise that he is too much of an expense to keep. Have faith
Hmm you sound like Levy! Fills me with deja vu to the past couple of windows. Does it really show we've come such a long way to be chasing players who we've known from the get-go won't fit into our wage structure or their clubs won't sell at a price we're prepared to pay, leaving other deals until the end of the window in some sort of game of brinkmanship to knock prices down, and failing to get our dead wood out because we won't budge on prices?
No matter who you get linked with or set out to sign, if the end result is still a bloated, imbalanced squad that will struggle to achieve our publically stated aim of getting into the Champions League, have we come that far? Or are we playing out the same mistakes we made in previous windows?

So we have had recent ITK on Lavezzi (15m?), Diarra (15m?), Adebayor (loan?), Llorente (25m?) and Lenadro (15m?). Levy make it ALL happen and spend 70m on these 5 players

GFTS is just as meaningless as "Blue and Yellow", it's far far too vague to start making guesses on and could be applied to virtually anyone.

I thought it was just meant as a reference to the sort of player we wanted, rather than an indication of a particular target. I'm sure he posted other clues for Mata.

Lavezzi would be a great signing.

Would he??? 37 in 146 is worse than any of our current crop by quite a long way - and that's saying something!!! I know he's hot and argentinian, but let's not let that cloud our judgement please.

Jesus if we field a team in the EPL that consists of Lavezzi,Mata,VDV,Modric,Lennon,Diarra,Ekotto and possibly Rossi........we are going to concede a bucket load of goals from set pieces and corners.
I wouldn't start losing too much sleep over that my friend.

well it certainly seems things are going to start moving, has there been any more info on the palacios/crouch double bid from stoke? or is it now just palacios?

it really does seem it is going to be 1 out 1 in at the very least for all our transfers. im sure our wages are formed as a fixed % of our turnover, which will be less this year as no CL

Is this a cunning plan by Levy to save money because they will only need Large Boys size shirts and they are a bit cheaper to buy than the Adult one.

 We will not sign Lavezzi, Rossi, Diarra and Mata this summer and if we did surely every team we played would just practice playing headers and volleys beforehand.

Bit more from Storts regarding Lavezzi (posted last night)...

I mentioned him at the start of the window, we have definitely shown an interest and discussed him with Napoli.

He's naffing class.

I don't want him as he can't keep Messi out of the Argentina side :shifty:

Mate, Lavezzi starts for Argentina. He would be close to our best player. He plays on the right or left of a front 3, which explains his goal return. He is a forward, but not a striker.
